  • nice collection BMW 6th series at 0.15 is great is it really 1/24 and from which manufacturer?

And those old buragos are great love them.

  • @koni4jolv Thankyou! The BMW is a 1/24 Tamiya plastic static kit, aimed to represent a works touring car (complete with decals that are diagrams of the mechanicals of the car) - I have always liked the older Bburagos :) Esp the Rolls Royce Camargue they did early on...

  • checkout my models

  • Dang, come to think of it I've had that Corvette a v.long time now (bought June 1998!)...

  • That was a prebuilt, although it is available as a build yourself...

  • Really Nice collection....

  • Thankyou! - I see you have a few nice vehicles there yourself...

  • check out mine i collect 1:18 and 1:24

  • Thankyou! The 635 was one of my earlier models (completed mid-2005), and I enjoyed building it - the decals were a mission, and there were many clear-coats involved to seal them all in!

  • Again, very cool collection- i have a white version of that yellow #11 Fiat Punto a buddy of mine actually bot for me in Italy- thats sorta been a thing lately, getting scale vehicles from different states- sorta makes it a 'different collecting' as well.

I try to collect different makes/models/colors of vehicles as well- not just single branded collector.

  • Thankyou! My Punto's in bits at the moment, and about to get a respray :)

Hey an interesting approach about the different states - I am often building muscle cars (21 of them completed so far, all except the Corvair have V8 engines!) and what I aim for each one to have decal plates representing a different state - I'm aiming at 50!

  • I have about 20 1:24 Maistos!

  • Ah Maisto - they often don't cost much, yet they can have a great level of detail to them! I'm often buying Maisto's and detailing 'em even further!

  • i love your collection! I too collect 1/24 scale cars. I have recently starte and a i have about 20. I have a lot of other scale cars though. Like today i got a 1/18 Lamborgthini Murcielago and Gallardo for my bday but i like 1/24 because they arent to big or too small.

  • Thankyou!!! I like the 1/24 scale because of its model availability, particularly in the plastic kits - I do collect 1:18 too (Which I will be doing a vid on as I have 40 of them in that size!)

  • I actually prefer the bigger ones, but when i find a car i like - wether it be a hotwheels, 1:24 or larger, i get it, altho im running out of room.....before i moved my bedroom was nearly floor to ceiling all 4 walls covered in shelves with them- i still probably have about 30 of them left back home. The only thing about my stuff is theyre still all in their original boxes- it keeps the dust off em.

  • Crazy collection that are a lot!! and beautifull.

I have a collection of model cars myself with some nice ones but not as much as yours;)

  • Nice very unique...

  • u got a badass collection of classic cars

  • Thankyou! There's been more collected since that vid, which I've put up here in a vid...

  • yeah ive seen your most recent videos, im gonna buy a 69 camaro and make it a yenko tomorrow, u inspired me lol

  • Dodge Charger Daytona - keep an eye on my vids, as I periodically put cars that I have just assembled up (expect to see a Daytona vid soon)...

  • 124 at the last count - plus MANY unassembled

  • Yeah dude I know the mag.. Good luck with it bro.. You got an invite..

  • Wheres all the Aussie Muscle Cars..

  • I definitely will be buying an Aussie Ford and a Holden in 1:18 (I collect that scale also), but I've never encountered a 1:24 Aussie kitset that I could build though... Ah well, theres enough American and Japanese models I haven't built up yet that will keep me going for the next year or so!

  • I suggest a Holden Torana SLR5000, Pure Muscle.. Holden Kingswood Monaro.. There is an Aussie Magazine called Street Machine, Its Probably on the Web.. Top place to see some Aussie Cars Pimped out.. Whats your Fav car.

  • I've got a few issues of Street Machine, but one I read frequently is "Australian Muscle Car" (you would have seen it - it focuses on race specials from yesteryear, and anything Ford Holden and Chrysler) - Fav car hmmm... Thats a v.hard one as there's so many I like!

  • Watch and comment my models

  • i got my 13th car today. ints a 1970 plymouth gtx.

  • i have 12 die cast cars but my collection is growing!

  • Good to hear!

  • song ????

  • Jordan Reyne - "The Machines of B" - it is in the description...

  • nice collection check out thedpmcc com

  • I think I'll be taking a long look at that website!

  • i heve another question.. what spray gun are you ussing and what kind of paint?? i mean brands.. cos some paints are not for plastic right? what paint is good for plastic?

  • Actually I use normal rattlecans at the moment! The end result comes out fine though!

As for paint on plastic - use a primercoat first - putting spraypaint straight onto plastic sometimes does affect the surface, as for brands, I use Plastikote, available from most hardware stores.

  • primercoat? i didnt know that.. ok thanks for the info man!

  • And after you have applied the decals, a clearcoat is a good way to seal them in - and give more shine and protection to the end product!

  • ...and BTW again, nice collection!

  • Thankyou!!!

The Caprice (this one's the "Impala" sport model) I think Revell still makes the kit, I'm not too sure - that particular one I picked up cheaply in a run-out sale of product that had been on the shelves for several years - If you look closely you'll see I placed a surplus Pontiac Firebird bird decal on its hood!

  • Where did you get a '96 Caprice?? I haven't found one anywhere

  • how old are you when you started collecting model kits? i wish i have a lot of money cos i love this kind of hobby. do you have hatcback cars?

  • The interest started when I was 15 (ten years ago now), but I really got interested when I was 23, and got involved in plastic kits...

...Hatchbacks, yes there are a few in my collection -In particular a Fiat Punto (doesn't appear in this vid however) and THREE Cinquecentos, Toyota Yaris/Echo, Scion XB, two New VW Beetles, a Mazda 323 (I have a vid of it being built on Youtube) and a Honda Integra (also on Youtube)...

  • i want to see the yaris cos i just order one on ebay but it's not here yet..

  • It does appear in this but not the most clearly - I could send you pics of the car if you wish, my particular one is the 3-door hatchback version (actually its a diecast, and painted in a weird cyan-aqua colour) and has a pullback clockwork motor hidden under the rear seats! - Is your one a plastic kit?

  • hello ive post another 2 response videos =D

  • They look good!!! =)

  • thanks!, so wad car r u builing up lately?

  • There is a Honda flavour happening - look for an Integra in the next 2-3 days, and an Accord Wagon is nearing its completion...

  • sorry if this insults you but I have 500 1/24 cars.....

  • Thats all gd - No, I haven't got 500 but there are a fair few that did not appear in this vid... ...you going to put your collection up for us to see???

  • nice collection.. congrats

  • Thankyou...

  • Cool I LOVE your cars... how long ur been collecting these?

  • I've been collecting since 1997 - however the 'plastic modelling bug' hit me at the start of 2005 - and since then the collection has grown quite rapidly!!!

  • lols... ive colleted 4 plastic modelling but i fail 3 out of 4... the 1st one i bought was Evolution 6 then 7, the 3rd one is MR2 finally the last 1 which is a pick up truck "toyota hilux". its a old model one. Anyway ive thought of doing the same video processing like you and i was thinking maybe im going to fail again but it turned out to be good lols...

  • At the end of the day its all practice, trial and error... - Yep, a few have stuffed up bigtime in the past, but I always revisit and fix them later on (the red Jeep that appears briefly at 0.16 was a case in point - it took a year and a half - I admit was inexperienced when I began with it and actually left it for a long time - to go from bare model to a satisfied with finished product!)

  • alright then ill try revisit my MR2 again haha... ill post it up and video response for you wen im done.. might take quite a long time yea... thanks for de advice man...

  • do you keep the packaging?

  • Yes (although cleverly compressed) as it DOES add value to the model!

  • how much value? I don't save them.

  • At the very least a model with box would be worth the same as what I paid for it - however I intend keeping these cars for a fair while yet - I'd daresay (due esp to a fair few of these cars not being available anymore as models) there could be some return-on-investment!

  • Congratulations!!!

You've got a very nice collection!

  • Thankyou!!!

  • Wow, quite some collection. How much does the average 1/24 metal car kit cost? My plastic planes are avg. £5

  • The metal ones sell (over in NZ) normally between £5 and £10 (when converted from NZD to quid) while the bare plastic ones unusually are dearer, between £10 and £20 (The Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800, at $68 NZD was the most expensive one, esp as it was imported - and it was unbuilt!)

  • Ouch =O

  • "insane"....how much money did you spend on these cars?

  • Umm... there would like more than a grand put into the cars... There'll be return on investment someday thou lol!

  • Yeah, they're quite hard to find! Maisto produced them in the 90s. The Voyager is an odd one, as its back doors only open (they slide and are made of plastic), and the tailgate (there is not much space with the third row!). As for the Explorers, I have two (both appear in this vid), a '92 (which I bought back in 1997 - and runs on Firestone tyres lol!) and a 95' - the differences being the external bodyshells and dashboards, everything else being identical!

  • What are the makers of those cars? Maisto? Bburago? Gate? ERTL?

  • The Diecasts are mostly Bburago and Maisto (a few Welly's too), whereas the plastic models are mostly Tamiya, Aoshima and AMT - with a few Revells as well.

  • Wow, thats a cool collection of cars! It's really hard to spray paint those buildable cars. I tried once, and failed. I love your collection of cars. I have a collection of numerous cars on the 1/18th scale and 1/24th scale. Nice Video!

  • to many cars wow nice

  • please ... the song?

  • The soundtrack of this (actually mentioned in the description) is "The Machines of B" by Jordan Reyne, a New Zealand solo alternative industrial rock songwriter singer/songwriter - She has a website where this song, and a number of others of hers can be downloaded full-length.

  • damm,thats a big colection....how long you been building??

  • The collection began slowly in 1997 with the diecasts - but it was late 2004 when the collection really started to grow - when I built up skills with plastic kit modelling and spray painting - and its been growing ever since and is continuing to do so!!!

  • keep it up,you doing a good job at it...check out my work in my video,i aint up to skill yet but im somewhere lol but yea nice cars tho

  • OMG! Now that is awsome! 10 years! Some might call you crazy, but for me this is amazing. I have a small collection of my own. Consists of ~130 cars collected in 6 years.

But you have such cars! Never knew anyone made models of those, some cars I even can't name...

The BMW's were awsome if I didn't missnotice

  • Thankyou - Yes, there are a few that think I am crazy - but when the initial purchase price of a diecast (plastic kitsets cost a little more) is what some pay for cigarettes (ick!) its money well spent! - As for the cars, I'll collect/build anything 1/24-1/25 scale but I do like to find ones that don't appear normally as models (ie Alfa Romeo sedans, Toyota Echo)!!!

You say you have 130 cars - put them up, I (and there would be many others) would be interested to see them!

  • cool, check outmy land rover DEFENDER video in my videos, there are 2 ptoto's in there of my 1/24 model, try so make out wich ones

  • I saw the Defender mate, it looked good! - What outfit makes the plastic kit of it???

  • an aweseome collection!!!

i saw a beautifull lambo countach!! very nice...

  • Thankyou - Ah, the Countach! - I liked the styling so much I have two of them in 1/24 scale - one the red 1978 LP500 (A Tamiya, which is actually motorized, and scarily incredibly fast when running!) and a 1988 Quattrovalvole, which I painted up to be all black and stealth like!

  • OMG!!

    thats nice...

i hope to see it soon :)

  • awesome

  • Hey mate, thankyou! - I don't have a Holden yet in 1/24 scale, esp as the Holdens tend to be thin on the ground in kit form!!! However, I hope to lay my hands on the AMT/Ertl '04 Pontiac GTO (Monaro Clone) soon...

  • awesome!! i like specially the mopars, seems u dont have much :(

  • I haven't many at the moment, but theres a '69 Barracuda and a '71 Duster I have in kitform waiting to be built!!!

  • Different places - most notably department stores and yes, toy shops! - Where I am, the main cities also have hobbyshops specializing in automotive modelling.

As for your cars, yes I have seen both a Grand Nat (definitely would like to build up a model of one of those someday, and the Chevy Monte Carlo 'Aero' version) and 67' Mustang (i've modelled a '66 and a '68 thou) as kits...

  • I collect 1:18, but your 1:24's are really nice.

  • Hey thankyou!; you would have amassed a fair few? - I also collect 1:18, over the years I've amassed around 35 ...

  • 01:40 is that a honda civic coupé '96 ??? the one with the carbon/blach hood. if it is plz tell me the brand of the kit.

    impressive collection btw :)

  • The one with the black hood is actually a 2000 Subaru Impreza WRX, diecast Maisto - I'd definitely like to build a Civic though! - Pleased yas like the collection (and there is more cars on the way).

  • headlights look like civic :)

    I myself drive a honda civic coupé '96 and i've been lookin 4 a kit/diecast but i just don't seem 2 find one. plenty of 92'-94' though :(

if u know a brand plzzzzzzzzz tell me where 2 find my civic coupé '96.

    laterzzz

  • Ah yes, I have seen over the net a 1/24 Civic coupe (looks the 96) made by REVELL.

Interestingly, a model I have in the pipeline atm is a modded '96 Honda Orthia (Aoshima), a stationwagon based off the '96 Civic platform and styled very similar to how a '96 Civic wagon would have looked if they had made one!

  • i have around 70 of those ive been collesting them ever since i wuz 4

  • omg they are in soooooo good condition, I totaled like.. ten of them in a year!

  • Wow! you have so many model cars, and they are all built with detail and precision, you amazing talent. Great video.

  • They come pre-built.

  • Ah! - Yes and No - there's a few here that are 'pre built', but the majority are plastic kits (in a hideous sea of grey plastic bits when in an unassembled state!). As for the 'pre built' ones, lets just say a fair few of those have been pulled apart in their time, detailed left-right-and centre, then put back together again!
