Funny all the members in my chapter at UTEP have a GPA of 3.5 and higher, and not everyone is a Chicano Studies major. What you all don't realize is that we stand to promote unity and empowerment through education and political activism. That is all, no violence, no racism, there may be some hard feeling about the history of treatment of Chicanos but absolutely no hate.

I don't think Mecha is racist, but I also don't like how it separates itself from other groups. One of the coolest things about college is that you get to to hang with people from different cultures and isolating yourself by joining Mecha kind of defeats that goal.

I was there, I am a professor at CSUN and I know the Minuteman group was RACIST towards all brown people in their generalizations and in their IGNORANCE. The phrase "por la raza..etc" is part of a document called "El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan" which WAS NOT WRITTEN BY MECHA.. it was Adopted later.
