  • you don't drop $10 billion on a venture that's "not economical"...they're going to make double or more in return, that's the essence of capitalism.

  • Money is wasted all the time in venture capitalism, there's always a risk. In this instance the money has not yet been valued against the market correction of long term environmental impact + the resources expended on the project. Don't forget that money is just a representative currency, it's not absolute or holistic by any means.

  • environmental impact aside, we're talking about companies forking over billions-would you drop that much money on a bet with little chance of paying off?

    the rich get richer because they invest wisely-period. you realize they do extensive research before actually drilling for resources.

    I was also refuting your point that 'natural gas is not economical', yet millions of people consume it every day.
