I was working on the show and hiding behind the bookshelf, Discovering Everclear for the first time (I became a huge fan), but not Sue's dancing. Ellicot was hot but that dancing..ugh! Of course not many can sing a song the way an original singer or writer of the song does, but Everclear is still a good band. Different singers put their own flair or style in singing a song and maybe there are people that might like it the way they sang the version. I on the other hand think Tom Petty sang it better.

The main problem I have with this version is that we're used to hearing the song change chords during the verses. This version hangs on the D way too long, and that's primarily why I think it fails!

Ironically, when he chances chords in the 2nd verse (at 1:42's "crept back"), it's a bad choice, and not the G we're used to.

I'd be embarrassed if my cover band sounded like this.

I do like their version of Brown Eyed Girl, though.
