Crispin Glover was just beautiful in this scene, that bit he does right at the begining about being in a boat is down right poetic, and I love his eyes and hands through the whole thing and how the fact that he's covered in coal brings out his eyes. I could watch this over and over and never get bored. *sigh* <3

He's referring to the scene towards the end of the film where Johnny Depp is lying in the boat and you're looking down at him and you can't tell if the water is moving or the boat is moving. A little bit of frontier theory of relativity, if you will :-)

I think this guy is nothing less of a genius. I saw one of his films at a convention awhile ago and he introduced some of his books, and even read a few passages. A wonderful and surreal film. It would take a strange guy like Jim Jarmusch to put together the cast for this movie. Everyone was great. But this scene is so unnerving. Crispin's eyes are so intense...like he's looking right through Depp. An incredible fever dream of a movie. And the soundtrack by Neil Young is perfectly hypnotic and otherworldly.
