  • everyone knows it is possible to rev a 302 past 6250 we are all just saying this one isnt doing it the tach is set for v6

  • Once one of my friend had ( i don't know if it was really a problem ? ) an issue with his PCM. The car without a chip was able to reach more than 7200 RPM on the stock tach. That was pretty.. scary the first time we heard the car reving that high without any cut off. Still a mystery today lol. Sorry for the bad english by the way. i speak french

  • you dont even need a chip to bypass the 6250 rev limiter... lock at total timing and leave spout out

  • not possible to do that at 8000rpm your pc will shut the fuel off at 6200 and tach is set for v6

  • computer shuts fuel off at 6250 so not possible and the tach is setfor a v6 you should cut the little orange wire on the back to set it for v8

  • Tach is way the hell off.... he's spinning to about 6k. You can even see when he's stopped and idling it sounds like 600 rpm idle yet the tach shows 1500 lol

  • i own this car now it was a 306 with stock bottom end and aluminum heads motor was alright for wat it is but it never has seen 8,000 rpm if it did the bottom end would be gone the tach is wired wrong in this video its showin 5,000 rpms when he is slowing down

  • @k129h8 Yes, having a clock for a gauge could be considered rice, if you dont have a clock, or a fake intercooler, or a boost gauge on a Naturally Aspirated motor, but to replace a tach that is innacurate with one that tells you a vital piece of information on where you need to shift the motor... Well, thats not rice, its smart.

  • @tims73mach1a 351 is considered a small block but a 352 fe is called a big block. just 1 cubic inch difference. the cleveland is a league of it's own. There is no distinction between SB and BB for the cleveland, it's just a cleveland and thats it.

    The 352 is a FE block , completely different than anything else Ford makes. The FE block include-330, 352, 390, 427 L/M/H riser, and the 428. The 429 is also completely different than the 428 FE.

  • @Thra5her you forgot a few FE's 360,391,410(mercury only),the 429 is a 385 series like the 460,but as for 351's the windsor is a small block but has a differant deck height than 289/302 and also has 1/2 head bolts as 302 are 7/16,clevlands are also differant from mods the only thing clevs'and mods have in common is they both use the same crank,but other than that the mod is a 400 block completely diff.

  • @catwalkcody nope thra5her said that one ford made a 391 industial engine from 67 to 72 very hard to find engine casting numbers for the block are D4Te they are called a 105 mirror block they have the same main journals as a 428scj,makes great budget strokers...and i also love my 390 4v's great engines....

  • That 302 was maybe redlining at 6k, nice try though. for a small block 8k is literally almost screaming. You would need very good cam, bearings, and loads more compression to be pushing that kinda RPM's.

    A 302 FROM THE FACTORY with a roller cam will redline over 6000 rpm. Plus out of a 351 Cleveland (small block) you can make em do 9500 rpm. If you don't believe me, there's videos on YouTube to prove it.

    Oh I know man. I used to own a 71 Ford Torino with the 351 Cleveland. Badass motor from the factory. It wasn't running all the way right though. It needed a carb. rebuild. Got rid of it and I got a 86 Ranger with the 2.9 V6. I wasn't trying ta prove you wrong. But just from the looks of the video the tac didn't seem accurate.

  • @Metalhead0166 Fuck yeah! Building a nice 5.0 for my Foxbody that I'm restoring. My harmonic balancer is coming in from Summit and the motor will be basically complete. I got adjustable roller rockers for my Edelbrock heads and the studs are too tall to run reg. valve covers so I used tall ones so then my intake won't fit without hitting the valve covers so I need a throttle body spacer and upper to lower intake spacer :p THEN it'll be ready to drop in

    Hell yeah man ! Me and my dad are building a Carb. 302 that came out of an original Mercury Zephyr. Its gonna go in my 86 ranger. We have a set of Brodux heads with 202 ports, Lunati Comp cam 283 D, and 517 lift. Edlebrock High rise intake, forged piston, and we have a diff oil pump coming for it as well. Were gonna use my old Holley 570 street avenger that i pulled of my Camaro. We have a higher temp thermostat and universal housing. We estimate it at around 380 Hp to the crank

I ended up buying a cheap EGR plate (cheaper than a legit throttle body spacer and also thicker) and all I need is one of the holes on the side welded up and I'll have it all complete. I need to make a video of everything here soon.

  • all you guys talking shit that dude prolly has engine mods and is easily hitting 7K or slight higher depending on mods the stock tach is know to be off 500rpm i would imagine that the aftermarket tach may be off but 500k or more also but either way that up in the rpms and i can tell its forsure reving past 6k if the ecu has a chip other 6k is the redline for stock computer also depends on cam and engine work which why most of the people in here dont have any idea what the hell their talking abou

  • maybe 6700 rpm if that, my 302 in my f150 with cams and headman shorty headers tops a little under 7000 and every once and a while you get some valve float so no way 8000 rpm, tach is probably set on V6, flip the switch on the back
