Windows users should use redsnow as what i know. The qualities in redsnow is that you need the firmware file, but you do not need to build new one, you do not need to restore your device from iTunes, thus ending up with jailbroken iDevice WIHTOUT losing anything.

I am now sure, but i think Pwnage tool is only option for mac users..?

It said do you want to set up your iphone as a backup or new iphone i chose new iphone, but *BEFORE* i jailbroke it, it would say this sim card is not supported.

If you activate the phone though itunes then you don't have to unlock, but if you activated it with another phone like a flip phone, then you will still have to unlock it.

Not if you unlock your iphone, it will just let you set it up without all the activation stuff.

guys i found a solution to the DFU fix even without a USB HUB or downloading anything..just use the OLD USB cord for ipods the old one (thick one) the new ones are the thin ones. worked for me :]
