  • this is beautiful. thanks...

  • It looks like you're a yedi with awsome lightsaber skills! It looks so cool, but so hard to learn.

  • i dont know,... a lot of people say the crossers look "stupid" or weird, i cant really share that sentiment, not only is it a very useful move for, as you said, transitioning, it also opens up the possibillity of playing the Poi closest to your body as it can get. And in combination with pirouettes and weaves it looks sweet.

But i cant get it for the love of me, always keep hittting my face badly

  • I, for one, think you should do all your video without a shirt...just sayin'.

  • oh my god. nice nice nice body

  • i think ya should take another item o clothing off on next lesson, that would make it much more interesting and bloody funny too

  • good tutorial, but, you couldnt put a shirt on??

  • @shtoyshted Yeah, sorry, it was really hot when I made this video. I don't take my shirt off unless I have to, because I don't wanna blind anybody with my reflective skin or make anybody feel nauseas. I'm gunna remake all these old tutorials as soon as I figure out how to use my freaking camera, and I promise I'll keep a shirt on as much as possible.

  • @NathanielEverist You shouldn't have to apologize for being comfortable and natural when you spin your poi, or make poi tutorials. Spinning poi shirtless is the only way to spin poi, unless a shirt is required for whatever reason! Either the person is jealous because they aren't comfortable enough to or can't be shirtless in public, or their trolling. Just disreguard such rude comments, and be comfortable with your natural self. Comments like shtoyshed's irritate me because they are unnecessary

  • @shtoyshted

whats wrong with his shirt being off?

The human body is beautiful, there is nothing to be ashamed of.

  • @Arriss3 Ditto! Shirtless makes it more fun! Honestly, I think it is much safer to spin fire in the nude than spin fire wearing clothes.

  • @Deaf258 I dunno man, I think I'll always want something between my manhood and searing hot metal. But for the most part, you're right, the worst burns are usually from burning or melted clothing.

  • @Arriss3

poi tutorials are some much more interesting topless....

  • @NathanielEverist i must say, you look suprisingly good without your shirt on! lol. btw thank you for the tutorials. i have been teaching myself and once in a while getting a a tip from a fellow spinner. Although i was at a drum circle the other evening and this drunk fire dancer basically said i was unworthy. Its a drum circle and i am a free spirit. funny how i am just learning! I did'nt get the note that said in order to play and learn an art I had to be a pro in a month!

  • WOW... U LOOK SO GOOD! LOL

I TRY AND I TRY ALL DAY LONG BUT... I CANT....

  • yea i noticed it hurts a bit in the shoulders...

alright thanks for help dude, hopefully you can make the tutorial for it!!

  • Cool I've made it now, I've just gotta render it and make it youtube ready.

  • nice dude bad ass!!!

send me a message when you put it up...

    thanks!

  • I know how to do this move but i want to know how to do it behind your back...

i've been trying it all day but my poi keep hitting when they cross infont of me, i can't get them to stay one behind and one infront...

  • BTB crossers, I'll try and make a tutorial for it, although while I can do it, I hate doing them as it hurts my shoulders to have them contorted behind me like that. For now, get your wallplane waistwraps comfortable and smooth. When I practiced my btb crossers (aka double waistwraps), I used poi that were balled up socks in the ends of my sockpoi, so they had a bit of weight but were soft when they hit me, because yeah, they were hitting me a lot.

  • great tutorial. like all the explanations and creativeness. I'm noob and only do one regular crosser right now but reels are good so can't wait to get more fluid like you.

  • looks like butterfly wings :-)

  • i think my fave exit from crossers is...

    crosser>long arm 360>some flower variants

also you can alternate one at a time which is long arm... feels like a hybrid of sorts ^^

  • Hi Nathaniel, Are your Pois made from lycra too?. I think that my Pois are too elastic and I don´t get comfortable with them. I normally practice with glowpois or ledpois, but if i keep doing it, i will damaged them und maybe my face too :-D. Thanks for the lessons man!

  • thank you so much im really happy that all your tutorials have taught me so much im on my 1st month of spinning and i think im making some pretty good progress thanks for influencing and teaching me some great stuff to do with poi! :)

  • I've been having a hard time with Crossers. My Position training is going well, but crossers always really interested me. I decided to take a step back, learn my reels. I really wanted to learn what you do at 2:46 and I'm able to do that now. Crossers are coming soon.

As always, your tutorials are quality, I look forward to more! Keep it up brother.

  • Thanks man, I'm glad you're making progress. Keep it up dude, crossers may take a little time, but they're worth it.

  • I just want you to know that I'll probably be making a crosser video as well now, lol. Its been something I should've done a while ago.

My forte is becoming ground work in relation to crossers. I haven't put that much work into it, but I'm pretty close to getting breakdancing moves incorporated with that.

    But great video man!

  • Wow man, breakdancing with crossers? Sounds pretty mad dude, I'm definitely feeling the crossers at the moment, Chris Carlos and I did some filming yesterday, and watching the footage today I was like, "Man, I do way too many crossers", lol. Just don't let your crossers video make mine look too shit in comparison. : )

  • firstly, nothing wrong with doing alot of crossers. I find that the more you link crossers together in their varying sequences, the more interesting the overall composition becomes.

I think that what I'm going to is dissect the foundations of crossers as systematically as my ADD will let me, looking at the 4 sections of the body where a majority of crossers take place in, and the differences between them. I might make mention of contortion-esque crossers...man, i wish i was double jointed.

  • Sounds great man, and yeah, I love the many many different combinations that open up with crossers, these videos of mine only touch the basics to get people started, I can't wait to see how crazy good your video will be.

And I know the feeling about double-jointedness. I sometimes feel a desire to move my hand to a particular spot for a nice little crosser combo, but my body just won't let me... it's a really frustrating feeling.

  • A friend of mine, Pete who is insanely good at poi can do btb crossers that go under the legs and all sorts of mad combos, for me, just holding a btb crosser feels uncomfortable, and I can't do barely any movement with it. I'll be sure to get his crosser madness on film next time I see him to show you.

  • nice, benid the head, why i never come up whith that?? nice combinations

  • Yeah, these things seem so obvious once they've been discovered. I thought of it one day slaving away in a factory, but to my dismay found that it had already been done before.

  • you really have nice patterns there and great control and flow too.

  • Thank you.

  • Haha. Those do look zombie-like. Even the moves you did during the last bit of the video.

    Cool tutorial. thx.

  • Haha, it's funny that you mentioned being confident with the strength and flexibility of your shoulders, I injured my left shoulder yesterday being over zealous with practising behind the back crossers.

Ok, so maybe not funny exactly...

Umm, also, meenik has a video "Advanced 2 beat weave" which is useful for the two beat weave techniques.

As always, good video, looking forward to the next :D

    Happy spinning!

  • Yeah, btb crossers I can do, but will pretty much never do, because they're painful for me, you see, my muscles are just too large and powerful to stretch...

  • ...uuuaaaaoooo....:D
