Are all the strings barred with the first finger or does the bar exclude the low e

?

@Hypnofy6 it depends on the barre chord, if its a 6 string barre chord then you barre all 6, it its a 5 string barre chord then you only barre bottom 5 leaving out the low E, you can tell that by googling the chord name and seeing a picture of the chord, are there any chords in particular you are referring to?
