no, the camera records frames at a high framerate, like taking more pictures within one seconds.

it works backwards, the more pictures you take within one seconds, the slower the movie moves when you play it back within one second.

if a normal camera records at 40 frames per second, then a high-speed camera can record at 100 frames per second.

it's moving at high-speed to record frames. when you play it back, it moves in slow motion.

Actually that's not true at all, whether it's a high speed camera or standard (which is actually 24-30fps, or as low as 15fps for movies)when played back they would play at exactly the same speed, there would just be more frames in each second, but a second is still a second.

All a high speed camera enables you to do is slow down the footage without experiencing jerks; you could playback standard footage at the same speed it just wouldn;t contain as much information.
