  • How long did it "fuel Dump" looks like a chem

  • doesn't the fuel go to the ground or something, falling like rain little bit?

  • what happens to the fuel, will it evaporate before it hits the ground.

  • @mark031363 yeah it evaporates / disperses ATC will normally send you somewhere discreet or over the sea if possible, but its not essential.

  • i wanna touch it

  • How long did this take?

  • Airline pilots have XXL carbon footprints.

  • Excellent that they managed to land safely. Good job.

  • I see few people complaining about waste.... do you rather crash because of a over-weight hard landing ? ..; and its kerosene...it wont fall like rain on people.

  • i love wasting fuel ;)

  • those are a lot of big bucks being thrown overboard

  • @MrPorcoDio25 actually, they're saving money cuz if they land that heavy and the wheels blow or the landing gear doesn't hold the repair costs could be astronomic not to talk about the possibility of injuries and fire danger.

  • @imanofficerable true always safe than sorry

  • On YouTube, everyone is plane expert.

  • @Skyrodude Agreed!

  • Why don't they release the cargo hatch? Cheaper than dumping fuel lol

  • @barthoedemaker It's definetely not

  • @djbaze1998 just kiddin... anyhow fuel isn't cheap either, although airlines have to pay have the price for A1

  • ~~~€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€

  • GIVE THEM A AIR DISPLAY!

  • fuel dump to avoid hard landing that can damage the aircraft structure. if they just take off and have to land (emergency), the fuel must be dump so the weight of the aircraft meet the weight requirement for landing purposes. they have calculated before takeoff ( passenger + luggage + crew + fuel ). if cant make to their journey. the only weight that they can throw is the FUEL. correct me if i am wrong.

  • @badboyinxs if i am the captain, i will throw luggage as well... hahahahaha... JK

  • i have never seen contrails like that before! so cool!

  • @sethmac86 its a fuel dump

  • @TheFSguy is it because the plane is too heavy or what?

  • hi every the plane is not dumping fuel, its back drafts on the wings, flair of cloud smoke track, totaly unharmfull.

  • @vrs0786 it's called a contrail.

  • This is not a contrail this is a B747-400 dumping fuel.

  • I know! I was just correcting someone cause they were calling a contrail "Dumping Fuel" I can tell between the two!

  • @planeboy737 this is clearly a 747 dumping fuel its coming right out of the wings if it were contrails it would be coming out of the back of the engines

  • @planeboy737 it's called a fuel dump genius

  • No, it is not vapor. The vapor comes from the top of the winglet or the very edge of the wing. Also, this is too wide and is going too long to ba vapor.

  • @vrs0786 you couldn't be more wrong this plane is dumping fuel

  • @xXGETR0CKEDxX. Sorry my bad. Dumping fuel!

  • @vrs0786 If this is contrail, then you must be watching a UFO coming out of your backside. And what the hack is back drafts on the wings? Some kind of wind coming out of your mouth?

  • chem trail?

  • no, its jet fuel.

  • @HaltonRailfan , :0) ok,. I thought jet fuel has many chemicals..

  • Krueger Flaps need to be made moe simply, I'm still trying to make a model

  • Somebody's fuel consumption calculation didn't match the winds aloft...

  • I really don't think this is a fuel dump Nozzle already in condensating mode

  • How can one video have so many stupid comments? Everyone is so dumb these days that I think human civilization is doomed.

  • klm asia?

  • why does he fuel dump?

  • So he can make the plane lighter.

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha what pollution! jeez. i wonder where it all landing...in the water polluting the water.

    over people's farms...killing crops.

    over people's houses/cars...wow!

    its almost like acid rain.

  • A fuel dump is only done above water. So no, it will not end up on your house, car or farm.

  • not true. because what if a plane is fying from utah to missouri...and what if they need to make an emergency turn around after 20minutes into the flight?

yeah i dont see any water where they can dump fuel...highly unlikely. i think the fuel goes other places.

  • ATC takes care of that. You may not dump fuel below a certain altitude and at certain places.

  • No, evaporates. Never hits the ground. Probably more polluting to burn it.

Kind of like those old junk cars tree huggers own, with the cloud of smoke trailing behind it.

  • hahaha thanks. at least i know it isnt harming anyone.

    thanks. lol

  • this fuel is not like those used in cars and ships . It Evaporates once it comes in contact with the air

  • its a gas in the form of liquid i think its kerosene

  • what's a kreuger's flap?

  • A leading edge flap to increase the critical angle of attack, so the airplane can fly @ lower speeds.

Hope i helped you and otherwise let me know.

  • And that is due to KLM that the passenger was missing?

  • Nice, the flight KL888 flies over my house almost every day

  • KLM are aweesome love em :)

  • is that normal?:O

  • Any plane can land with the full fuel load its just a safety mesure!

  • the airline either loses a few thousand dollars in fuel or a few million in a wrecked aircraft because they landed overweight

  • Does it really matter? It's going to be burned anyways. And besides, I'd rather have a bit of fuel in the atmosphere than 500+ dead people.

  • actually fuel vapors are a more strong greenhouse gas compared to CO2

  • i've seen a few of these videos so far and most people have the same attitude about it..."oh they're just dumping a little fuel" you guys really dont see the harm in doing that. how many times do you think planes do this each day? im sure a shit load and over time it adds up to a lot of pollution.

  • sure... let's make some undreds of people die and make a better world...

Things like these, even if happen every day, are nothing comparing with others major polluters like coal energy plants, wastes, factoriesetc. And may I ask you... You do have electricity and sewer for example, don´t you?

In world pollution we're all are guitlie, and of course you should do something, but why kill those people on airplanes? ;-)

    (don´t mean to offend anyone!)

  • Contrails are water-vapour cooling/freezing from the engine exhaust...fuel dumps lower weight for landing and are done over the sea...small white streams from wingtips are air condensing and squeezing out the water due to the pressure created by wings and vortices...winglets reduce vortices anyway and reduce drag for wing efficiency and lower fuel usage

  • Planes have a certain takeff and landing weight,so if they have not used enough fuel, the pilot will dump fuel so they have a lighter landing weight.

  • Why did he do that??

  • Now THERE'S something you don't see every day!

  • how can we allow them to do this no wonder ppl die from mysterious deaths hell they are poisioning us this is bullshit!!!!

  • u r the one talkin bullshit

  • NOT ALL AIRCRAFT CAN DUMP LIKE MD-80

  • it not fuel dump, its flying over 30,000 feet, its the air of it. just say over 60,000 feet, there is no air to breath.

  • its a fuel dump. u can see the little nosile and fuel is coming out of it

  • such a waste its untrue, they should pump it into like a big bag thats tied to the end of the plane or something, so they can reuse it

  • It's not chemtrails, read the info genius. They had flap problems after takeoff. When planes first take off they are near or at their maximum weight. It was necessary to dump fuel so that the plane would be light enough at landing, there are maximum takeoff and landing weights. Try knowing what you're talking about next time.

  • @type2mike

Lol snitch ass comment however it does explain something I didnt understand -- earlier I saw a vid where they had to dump fuel to save a woman (emergency landing soon after take off) and i couldnt understand why if there was nothing wrong with the plane they couldnt just land, and had to dump

apparently max take off weight =/= max landing weight, now it makes sense!

  • @type2mike this plan is at max flight lv clouds are well below so if there is an major issue your telln us that the plane will go max alt then dump, Ya i think this vid is crap

  • stupid person, stop spreading your paranoid guff

  • Contrails dont come from wingtips and the only thing coming from the wingtips are vortices.

    Such a genius you are.

  • edcoondog the last thing you said isn't right, all commercial jets can dump fuel if nescessary...

  • they DO weigh it before they takeoff. they put enough fuel to get to their destination with a reserve. if they have to land somewhere else, due to an emergency, with an overwight condition THEN they jettison. the liquid fuel vaporizes almost instantaneously due to the high relative speed of the air that it's entering. so it's not pouring down on the rainforest or manatees. jettisoning fuel is also a pretty rare occurance and most jets do'nt actually have the capability to do it.

  • Actually all modern airplane have the capacilty to dump fuel

  • ACTUALLY most don't yet. most NEW ones do. but alot in the air rightnow don't.

  • the f16s at local gard base

dump fuil to less the fire ball if thay go splat wile landing

and i bet not much gets to the ground

  • it doesn't really pollute that much, as fuel dumping normally takes place at high altitudes (such as this one) so that the fuel dissipates and doesn't come into contact with the ground.

  • Lol it's not because it's droped at high altitude that it doesn't pollute, even if it dissipates... multiply that by hundreds of planes everyday you get hundreds of tons everyday I don't even want to know how many megatons a year it is!

  • braikar, fuel dumping isn't something that happens very often. In fact, it's quite a rare occasion that you would see or hear of. The reason they dump fuel is in case of emergencies, when for some reason the aircraft has to divert to another runway which may not be designed for the aircraft of it's type.

So in actual fact, there isn't that much fuel getting dumped into our atmosphere every year.

  • Because you'd rather die in a plane crash, huh?

  • "Am I the only seeing a problem here!!?"

Everything you said makes no sense, so yes.

  • Possibly dumping fuel to compensate for all the fat Americans.

  • that makes no sense, if there were fatter people on the plane they would need more fuel, not less.

  • Yes I noe that. My point is, fix all problems prior to take off

  • ? They do not know that the problem is going to occur, so there is no way they knew that it would happen.

  • you can take off heavy considering ground roll and refusal speed are factored. However, If you land at a shorter runway how are you going to stop? Don't worry the Americans will soon be skinny due to not having any money to buy food when they are in economic collapse. What happened to the smart Americans did they all go back to where they originally immigrated from? Or just one to many bad administrations. NAFTA destroyed you why did you let it happen.

  • dont diss america man. america is where people come for free speach and to be free of the other countries that kill innocent people every single day.

  • What a waste of fuel

  • better then landing over weight, having the tires catch on fire, then having the plane blow up.

  • Dad whens lunch

    *Rains fuel on barbequ

  • wat's fuel dump

    ??

  • it is when the flight crew decides to dump fuel to minimize weight when an emergency landing occurs. It is also necessary so that in case the plane catches on fire, the explosion would be minimized and the fire would be minimized too, decreasing the chance of fatalities if there were to be any.

  • Wow! look mom a smart one. Buy the man/ woman a pint!

  • omg its a chemtrail!

    jk

  • So thats what a fuel dump looks like.

  • that is a fuel dump and those who says it is not you should read some facts

  • Its a fuel dump. The special valves in at the wingedge open and release fuel that vaporize before they reach the ground. Only large aircrafts can do this.

  • Whether persistent contrails are really chemicals or not, are you saying this isn't really a fuel dump? My god do you people have to turn everything into a mystery? Don't breathe oxygen. It's really a gov't mind control spray that makes you want to shop for things you don't need and eat shitty fast food.

  • Hmm reading some replies here there is some confusion about the white stripes you sometimes see from an airplane. Those white stripes are 9999/10000 times from the hot exhaust gases cooling down in the cool air temperature very rapidly. The water in the exhaust gases form clouds immediatly.

  • Sp Ray

Number one I having no idea what you mean

by I am talking too difficult. Evidently

not because you get exactly what I am saying.

Number two, are you one of the sleepers they

embed in these groups that is why you know

exactly what is going on when you typed

    "It is your job"?.

  • That was not fuel. That plane is flying in

one of their magnetic fields Start pausing video every second. Look at

the energy radiating around the wing. Especially the stripe energy patterns above

the plume on the end wing jutting up. You can't see that energy distortiion in

the air, only on the wing.

  • shut up!

    its a fuel dump.

but many people see them as large stripes in the air!

  • Ray

Truth is no one knows whether or not it was

a fuel dump. But large stripes along objects and not

the so called fuel, well your trying to

pretend to change the subject. The stripe

is radiating too far from the chemcial being

    dumped.

  • yeah thats true. the stripes comes from the engine. but I can know what he is doing, because after all i must know this facts ;)

  • SP ray. How could you possible 100 percent know what is going on with this plane and what

the pilot( he) is doing? How is it possible for you to "AFTER ALL KNOW THESE FACTS"? No, it is not true, the stripes do not

come from the engine. They come from the

ionization of the plasma field and the energy

and magnetic fields they have synthetically

created in our atmosphere and pushing it

down around us, forcing us to breath a lesser

    concentration

  • sorry not true and you are talking to difficult, i know it because its kinda my job!

  • I think maybe you should see a mental health professional. I am not joking, or trying to be mean, but you may be suffering from schizophrenia.

  • wot a waste of fuel man!!!

  • he let it go in case of a emergency crash, or he had to much.simple.i think that they should make a special place to put internal fuel tanks that can be attached, or detached,at a push of a button. probably made out of tin,or iluminun,so its light and cheap.i mean, come on, it aint that hard!

  • That would be exceedingly hard, and entirely unnecessary. Are you suggesting that they would simply drop a tank of fuel that could fall somewhere and cause a serious problem instead of just letting it dissipate into the air?

  • !no! i was saying that during its drop it would brake apart! it could catch the excess fuel on fire, burning the tank in the air.hard. wat do u know. i know how to fly a plane. do u?

  • what does you haveing to be able to fly a plane have to do with this argument...thats just show off...or childish...

  • so.... issc, you would rather die to save a few gallons of fuel.... wow the fuel thing has made everyone stupid!

  • a 747 cannot land with a full load of fuel, so you must dump it. the fuel wont catch fire, jet fuel is simular to diesel fuel, but more refined

  • how many liters did he dumb all together. why did't the fuel go on fire. and what a waste at this time. how importent is fuel

  • It's a time and life critical situation. Who cares about wastage.

  • Compared to a human life, a bunch of fuel is meaningless. Jet cannot land heavy with fuel. Overshoots the runway or compromises wing structure.

Probably someone having a heart attack - requires immediate medical attention.

  • It was a mechanical failure with the flaps - they wouldn't retract fully.

  • whit these failure they can go to their destination, so for no waste the time of the passengers and do a quick review to aircraft ( something can happen you didnt know) the aircraft dump fuel to get under his MAX landing weighi, on a 747-400 630000pounds ...

  • The pilot stated there was increased drag due to the flaps and therefore did not have enough fuel to get to Amsterdam.....I was on this flight.

  • Hmmm Fuel is very importent.

If you have to much fuel for landing then yours gears wont hold or worse so.

  • Also, it didn't catch on fire because there was no spark to set it off. Plus jet fuel was designed not to be as flammable when not pressurized and not at a certain temperature.

  • Why should it "go on fire?" When you toss a handful of dry leaves into the air do they mysteriously burst into flames?

  • the feul didnt catch fire cas there wasnt a spark to light it. and if it catch on fire, the fire wouldnt b able to go back into the tank anyway.
