This CD introduced me to one of the best bands ever. It was one of the best purchases I made for under $10 and found a new home in my CD player. `The Authority` song is a guilty pleasure, `Get It Faster` is very against-type as it almost advocates cheating though this could be satire from a band known for lovesongs and the video for `The Middle` has the band surrounded by naked extras thus poking fun at what it takes to sell a video these days. Every track is flawless.
yeah, the video's kinda fun. it goes against convention which i guess is why i bothered to mention it. glad you liked the vid. comics are still my main thing but i couldn't resist talking some music when ryho started Audiology.
that`s cool. I`m a music nut on top of comics (and snowboarding!) so i always enjoy a new band or a good band. Seen a bunch of shows when I lived in Montreal (`the big city`). Can`t wait to move back!
Good stuff, Cole. I can't hear "The Middle" without connecting it to my first strip club experience, since they played that song a dozen times and while I was receiving a lap dance from a VERY accommodating young woman.
This album got me into Jimmy Eat World, back in the day, but when Futures was released I really got hooked. I remember enjoying this one very much, though. It's weird, I used to love these guys and then just completely forgot about them.
It's funny you brought up Fall Out Boy because I've always felt they had some connection with Jimmy Eat World for some reason. I find their song titles the same for one thing, but not just that.
i strongly considered doing Futures (which includes probably my favourite Jimmy Eat World song, Work) but decided to go with this one because it was how i got into the band in the first place.
Fall Out Boy are just one band who get their sound from older groups like Jimmy Eat World, and, while I think they're ok, I don't think they really touch them
Yeah, I wouldn't compare the two. I just found that from the moment I heard Fall Out Boy, over anyone else, I could hear Jimmy Eat World in there somewhere.

Woo! Love this album. It's the only Jimmy Eat World album I own though.
I listen to Authority Song the most, though I don't think it's the best song. The whole album is perfect for summer.

Glad you enjoyed it. my advice to you is to check out some of their other albums as this one only scratches the surface, really.

Nice. i guess everyone has their own memories to associate with a certain song or album.

That would be a very odd song to get a lap dance to, unless there were two ladies making it just appropriate.
