It is expensive but you're getting a powerful FFB motor (65W Industrial motor) and full GT5 (nd PC) compatibility. If you don't plan to get an xbox, this is the wheel. If the T500RS has a weakness is that you have to buy a separate stick Shifter (or else you can only do paddle shifting)- the TH8RS for another 150 euro but the shifter is as good as the wheel and does both H-gated and sequential.

Another option would be the new Fanatec CSR Elite.

nordschleife is legendary. so hard to find your pace here. I never drove here in gt5 but I spent quite some time on rfactor with various cars. first few laps I've done were ridiculous, either I was driving like a granny or was in the barriers lol

On the explanation video of this track , it shows you what lines in wet are the easiest to drive on, it vary s depending on the old age of the track and it really shows how Detailed PD made the car and track physics. for example the "fastest time driving lines" are the most slippery do to them being over used, so you have to take the less used driving lines to get a fast time on wet driving courses in GT5.

Especially nurburgring due to the very old age of the roads, amazing.

The Nurburgring is a track that grows on you, literally.

There are landmarks on this track. The carousel at half track is an obvious one. The half carousel near the end is another.

Landmarks are how to learn the track. Keep racing. Find your own landmarks and learn where they are.

You will start to remember some of the track that follows each of your landmarks, and also some of the track leading up to your landmarks.

This is you learning the track.

I learn't the whole track this way.

Agree'd. I learn many parts of this track based on landmarks. Like the 1st tight turn, the small jump afterwards, and weave section, Carousel, then the next one, then the straight. I time myself for every sector! It really helps me improve
