  • This item is known to be one of the best ways to help a child stop the habit who wants to but can't seem to stop on their own. It can be purchased with free shipping on our s i t e.

  • I have to have jaw reconstructive surgery as i sucked my thumb when i was a child as a result i now have an over bite. As for this product i am not sure it will work as it still goes in your mouth and a child can still go in your mouth when you are sleeping... that will still push your lower jaw bone back and your upper teeth forwards. Its very impotent you try and stop your child from sucking there thumb from a very early age.

hope this info helped my operation is on the 19th of july

  • My thumb on the right hand is soooo thin because of thumb sucking. On the left, is normal. On the right, I hate it when I need to cut that finger cause it hurts. I'm addicted to smelling my hair and thumb sucking. They had cut my hair really short so that I can't smell it. I'm 13, and sucked my thumb since I was born. I can't stop. But I can stop it when I'm at school, I'm calmed, I don't think about it. And I CAN'T suck it when my hands are dirty.

  • Burn in Hell Silverglade!!! I'm a 34 yo male, married with a masters in Teaching... I have Perfect teeth and have TS'd my Whole life!! You are selling LIES... I stopped for a while in my early 20's and I experienced extreme stress build up with no way to soothe. After about a year I went Back to Sucking on my on wilful decision. Please do not use this Archaic devise on your kids. You are HURTING them!!

  • @sngncwby There is plenty of medical information documenting the harmful effects of thumbsucking. Arguing against stopping this harmful habit, due to reasons of "stress buildup" is no different than saying children shouldn't be toilet trained, shouldn't follow proper hygiene, or shouldn't pursue healthy eating habits.

Additionally, most children look forward to stopping this harmful, unhygienic habit themselves. I guess you must be an exception.

  • @sngncwby Sir, when people start off by starting their level of education; it usually mean s you think you are smarter than someone that does not have a masters degree. Am I right?

  • @tigerpistol That's right, you shouldn't force the child, both (the child and you) should decide if they'll try it or not. But it is very wrong that thumb sucking will not affect their teeth (ask a dentist). I've seen many adults and children with an open bite because they are sucking their thumb.

  • Are you serious...up to the child to decide if they'll try it or not?..... You are obviously not a parent, or not a good one... Agreed, intimidation and other tactics are not good parenting...But, it's your obligation to do what is right for the child, especially at an age when they are learning the difference between right and wrong....At this point, they are far from making life decisions. You are the parent. Step it up.

  • This is cruel, children suck their thumbs to self soothe. Do not force this on your children because you are embarassed by them. I've never seen something so cruel. They'll grow out of it and if they don't they can chose to stop as adults. It will not affect their teeth, this is what people say because it's not socially acceptable.

If you're that worried, take them to a therapist to have them self soothe in other ways.

  • @tigerpistol With all due respect, you do not have a clue...My daughter has to have a pallet expeander, tongue crib, and braces...most as a result of finger sucking. The entire roof of her mouth reshaped itself from finger sucking. Pulled her teeth forward. It is our faulf for not addressing it earlier. She is 8. Are technique, having her wear a winter glove for 30 minutes when we notice her doing it. It helps a lot. Help them find other ways to soothe......

  • when you suck your thumb your teeth are not touching your thumb , at all. If you're really that worried about it try and get your kid to just fold her thumb in and suck the tip of her knuckle.

  • @tigerpistol ....It is not about being socially acceptable. It is about the heath of your child overall. You will get sick a lot more if you suck your thumb of finger...period. ANyone that says it does not mess with your teeth is either lucky in their own right, or mis educated...Please help your child and work together to break the habit. It does cause dental damage. We are out thousands and having to put my daughter though that partially because we let it go bothers me a great deal.

  • @ChrisCoxRox77 : Actually, you're the misguided one. You're harming your child emotionally and physically.

I have sucked my thumb for 23 years as did my mother and as did her father. I have never had braces or a cavity and have perfectly straight teeth. I do not have a lisp . I do not get sick more often than anyone else. I wash my hands frequently . As any thumb sucking person will tell you, we do not generally ever let that thumb touch anything out of habit, so that plus handwashing is fine!

  • @tigerpistol THe suction effects can change the shape of the roof of your mouth and shift the teeth...regardless if the thumb of finger touches the teeth or not. I appreciate your feedback, but I know that this has damaged her pallet. IN fact, the second the Ortho looked in her mouth, he was like, finger sucking right?. It is obvious. Whether you agree with the thumb gaurd or not, this Doc is spot on with the fact that sucking damages teeth and pallet. Guide your children alt comforts.

  • @ChrisCoxRox77 have you explained to your child that, and suggested weening them off of it, like saying you can put yur thumb in your mouth but don't suck on it, this is why. Or your can put just the tip of your thumb in your mouth, then ween them off of that. Putting this torture device on them will not fix the problem, it will just mess up your kid. They're suckng their thumb for a reason, not out of habit. It's like an addiction and a craving, not a habit like putting your elbows on the table

  • @tigerpistol They are sucking it both for a reason and habit. However, regardless why, it causes damage. Do you realize that some people have teeth and the roof of their mouth so messed up ..if they wait til adulthood, they need surgery. I encourage my daughter to seek comfort in a way that is not bot damaging her teeth and pallet, but exposes her to more bacteria and viruses. We are addresses it now so that her orthodonic work will be as minimal as possible. I love my child.

  • @ChrisCoxRox77 if you loved your child you would take them to a therapist who would work with them to learn to control it. not put torture devices on them and make them feel like there is something wrong with them.

and i've never ever had any damage , neither has my family. i know a lot of people that do it and they also do not have damage. it's a one in a thousand case that has damage from that. In which case you should work with them not strap devices to them to torture them.

  • @ChrisCoxRox77 also, that's not love, that's laziness.

  • @tigerpistol It is not laziness. You do not even know me...I am not judgeing you...I am simply saying what I experience to be true...and btw, I am not using this device. We are going to go round and round on this forever so thank you for your feedback. I understand that your experience is different...But everyone has a different jounrey. Good luck with yours.

  • @PrincessSandra99 No, there is nothing wrong

  • 3:09 looked... very wrong...

  • WTF!! this looks like a fucking medieval torture device!

  • @WilliamBroichYAY why? There is no pain for the child. It's better than a tongue crib or similar

  • If you bought the Thumb- and/or FingerGuard, why not uploading a video and show how it worked for you and/or your child? What was the first reaction of your child?

  • We offer ThumbGuard and FingerGuard plus extra wristbands WITH FREE SHIPPING

  • i want to stop sucking my thumb because my teeth aren't straight anymore.people have straight teeth while i don't. so i wanna stop sucking my thumb before it's too late.

  • im 14 and i still suck my thumb and my teeth are straight. this product are only for those who suck thier thumb with a lot of pressure. and plus, there are no disadvantages other than bad teeth with thumbsucking o there is no point of stoping. i suck my thumb when im really upset, annoyed, bored, tired etc. ive never been bullied in school for sucking my thumb and its never stopped me from having boyfriends, so what s the big deal. parents are just emabarresed

  • uhhgg IM 11 yrs old and i still suck my finger with braces and all I cant Stop!!!!

  • where can you buy the Thumbguard kit?

  • @brito1111 You can get it in different online stores, like One Step Ahead or

    thumbguard.co.uk for the UK

  • I have sucked my thumb since birth and im 22 now. Dentists say my teeth are straighter and more healthy then most people they see, there is nothing wrong with my teeth and im fine.

If a kid wants to stop then they can do it on their own, if they dont want to, they shouldnt be forced to.

Thumb sucking is much better then the habbit of smoking. It causes no harm

  • Im 13, my teeth are jacked up because of thumb sucking. Ive been made fun of at sleep overs earlyer in life. Ive needed therapy and othadonic surgery. My dentist says if i dont stop sucking my thumb, i my teeth will begin to fall out.

  • it really depends on the WAY you suck your thumb. you have to try not to put too much pressure onto your teeth or suck too hard.

Do you have a thumbsucker's calise (im not sure how its spelled)

  • :( yes, i also have a few cuts once in awhile.

  • @rothaga2 Same with me... without all of the teasing i didnt start sucking my thumb until i was 5... and i've been wearing braces for 2 year and i still suck my thumb.. my orthodontist said if i dont stop there gonna take em off :/ horrible habit..
