Brilliant! the products, yes, 4sure. But also the quality of these goalkeepers. And their trainers, of course. Hockey players improve by these kind of training. Even though the products are a bit expensive (i agree @barret185) But, if you can't afford it as an individual goalkeeper, i think you could invest in them as a team. Whatever improves the keeper, also always improves the rest of the team. They get sharper and will aim better. I guess
hey could someone help me i have been keeping for a couple of years now and i have my own gear but its slowly dyin i guess and im moving up into the senior leagues should i look at getting OBO gear or T.K (or watever else there is on the market?)
@MRemo92 i have been using mazon for years now but the obo stuff is so much better quality, especially in the fit and the straps. just wish i could afford a set! haha
for instance: the left hand covers, some are just tubes of foam, while others are wider and more padded
I am looking to play for a league in my city and don't want to find out at the last minute that I can't use my hand protectors because they don't meet standards
@paigep17 I'm pretty sure that rule's been changed (again). We can deflect it, but we can't bat at it. ...I don't think. Who knows, it's probably changed again.
@kovash126 Everything you buy should meet regulations. There's a size dimension for the limit on how large your gear can get (legguards, handguards) in the rulebook, I think. But everything a licensed dealer (OBO, TK, Gryphon) sells you is within regulation.
Depends on your budget...in my view OBO have the best products on the market hands down, but it also comes with a price tag - what level are you playing at and what age are you?
yea also keep in mind that OBO does have different types of pading you can get. There's a high rebound pads, if you get this you should be pretty comfortable with control. I have a pair of high rebounds and for the whole summer I had to retrain my accuracy. Then there's the high control, good if you have power in your kicks and you prefer to be more accurate then to have the power. This advice is just from my own personal experiences with the gear. However OBO is a good bet any ways.
1.16 and 1.42 are the best bits haha

Is there regulations for goalie equipment

kovash126 2 years ago
i don't think so, all i know is that you can't push the ball away with the gloves, you can only block it
paigep17 2 years ago
@paigep17 changed that rule years ago, you can push it with glove now just not with force...ie you cant belt the stuff outta it.
i do know that most clubs here in oz are cracking down on no white gear and footwear. that is the only thing we have to worry about with gloves.
