  • I much prefer this version of the theme. It has something the original was missing.

  • The Carlton theme is good, but the best theme for me will always be the TVS one.

  • Bring back Catchphrase!!!

  • lol i saw the episode that first clip came from the pother day. love this theme tune, miss Roy Walker <3

  • I miss Roy Walker.

  • "As you can see ... mine's a ... HOLY FUCK WHO THE FUCK PUT -" [explosion]

  • @videofizz The actual clip of the first may be from 1997 or whenever, but the theme tune on it was used since 1994.

And it's my video, I'll call it whatever I like.

  • they should bring this back i remember watching this

  • As you can see, mine's a pint!

  • great show, great presenter and all of the intros throughout the years were brilliant!! just a pity shows like this are no longer on tv!! Too much x factor shite now!! miss catchphrase big time. Mr Chips changed alot over the years.

  • Used to love this show, watched it at my nans all the time =)

  • I've looked through many episodes of the Robin Kermode era and I've found that he laughs through almost all of the introductions when he says "Roy Walker!"

  • The second is a little too sparse for my liking.

  • there both shit the original was the best out of the three, I don't know why they had to change it

  • @exsquilax I don't know any better, but there have been problems with locating the copyright details to the TVS archive, which would logically include the theme tune. Maybe this is why they did a remix of the theme tune when it switched to Carlton in 1994?

  • Love this theme tune cos it really brings back memories. When I was five this was part of a great Saturday night. It was this then Gladiators then Stars In Their Eyes.

ITV on Saturday night just ain't the same!!

  • Love this theme tune brings back memories. Every Saturday evening at half past five straight after a Looney Tunes cartoon when I was about five years old.

  • To let people know the first theme is the obvious original by the composer Simon Etchell. The 1998 version was a slight edit by Central television, who were experts at updating or editing themes. Just thought people would like to know. Simon Etchell done the 2000 one too

  • If you listen very carefully the announcer in the second version sounds gayer.

  • Say what you see Roy Walker and his dulcit Irish tones some of the catch phrases on this were silly though and not obvisious at all what happened to Roy Walker??. x x

  • the Early ones were shit IMO, the best theme tune was between 94'-96' that will never be beat! :(

  • To be honest they're both shit. Nothing will ever beat the original used from about 1986 to the early 90s.

  • 1st ones the best!

  • Listen carefully to Robin Kermode (the announcer on the 1997-1999 theme tune) when he says Roy's name. Is it just me or does it sound like he's laughing through it?

  • catchy tune, huh? I prefer the 1997 version myself.

  • ^^bullying bullying people!

  • you can quite easily sound the differences - why doesn't people notice lol!

  • wheyyyy

  • WTF

  • I know. I uploaded this for a user who didn't believe there were two different versions of the 1994-1999 theme tune.
