Actually, There Will be tons of players at dynamic events that Are mostly higher level THAT HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND FAILED AND KNOW WHAT TO DO. Besides if this event only happens once in a while everyone will show up to Help, So you don't really need a guild because there will be tons of experienced players.
This looks really fun, but I can tell you right now one of the huge problems GW2 will face is end game events. An event that requires large amounts of pubbies or well organized guilds to complete is always tough. Now combine that with the lack of tanks/dps/healer traditional roles and idk seems like those events will either have to be nerfed to infant/toddler levels of difficultly or just never get done...
@Roeshamboe05 There are more ways to skin a cat. You must unlearn what you have learned from other MMOs or you'll just end up carrying it around like luggage. To enjoy GW2 one must stop thinking WoW.

In order to even get to this point you need a group of people playing smart, freeing the villages, pushing back the army then finally working together to res npcs, man the turrets, kill the bone walls, kill the creepers, defend the mega asura cannon. LOL pubs will never be able to do that, EVER. Basically either you need a good big guild or the cool stuff like this you'll never see.
Also, one might expect that this would filter out the toddlers whereas it doesn't in WoW, most likely the game you are currently comparing GW2, which is from a whole other level, with. And in my opinion, the caring for toddles and 8-year-olds is what made WoW so fudged up. Hoping to make a clean MMORPG start with this, most legendary, game.

Dodge Mechanics, No second Profession, no instanced areas except for dungeons + PvP, Extra races with racial skills, No Quests, Personal Story where your actions effect the world, Seige weapons in pvp and pve, massive server vs server vs server pvp with 100s of people battling on a map for days capturing forts and strongholds for their guilds 2/3 new professions. if u count thief. GW2 will be awesome, and completely different to GW1.

@moneyafro No there are no mounts to travel around the world on. This is confirmed. There are things like turrets and such that are shown in this video but no you will not have mounts like in WoW for instance.

Ever sense I left wow, nothing I have played has stuck. GW2 looks amazing and I try not to get hyped about it, but I am REALLY hoping it is the one... because if not there is no hope left for me
@Cwafter Well, many WoW players have played the game through many times, and are probably getting a bit bored of it now, and I wouldn't be surprised if many WoW players migrated to this because of the fact it has no monthly fee, it changes up a lot of stuff, and it does look very fun!
@manggjiosdjg Actually GW2 is likely to have lower requirements than SWTOR. On ultra-super-high GW2 will require a lot, but at a lower setting it will be more moderate than SWTOR.
Noticed a few people who reply-commented to me have been searching through as much gw2 content as i have! If you need a lil fix of something Guildwars'ish check out this site i found. It's a trait build tool which lets you look at the setup of your skills and traits. Not complete and can't vouch 100% for it's accuracy but seems to give you an idea of what to expect and how you might setup your character.

@Cheesymunky Apart from the traitsystem that is being reworked, a LOT of utility-skills missing, the missing packs off the engineer and the mesmer being absent those tools are really very good. I made a clip about skills and traits and linked to the tool in the description there.
On Anet they said that they are releasing open beta for press in Feb. Then in March and April they will open beta up to the public and ramp up the size of it. So probably looking to invite a moderate amount of public in March to tests the waters and then in April inviting larger numbers to see how the game holds up to plenty of traffic and activity. So all going well with no big fixes being needed you could guess around June-ish. It's all guess work after April anyway until Anet say otherwise.
@Cheesymunky Yes it all really depends on feedback form the testing and how Anet feels after testing. They could be perfectly happy, product stands up to stress test, no changes needed. Meaning game could release really quick after testing. Or they could be doing a lot of changes because of feedback. Thus taking longer to release

He's far from an "ass hole" like many people who play and review games with an air of importance etc. His commentators voice is perfect for light hearted videos that help and go well with his humour, which is actually funny compared to a lot of videos on here. He's always been a help throughout wow and I would guess on other games too and I tip my hat to him.

@stokic1 There are no dedicated "tanks" in GW2, which limits your options a bit. However, you can play very actively in support and control-roles with your guardian if you go mace/shield or staff. Greatsword is for straight-up-hurtin' of the foes though.

@stokic1 You will still be more magical than the warrior, but you will be dealing more physical damage with a greatsword than with a scepter/foci. I have a video on skills on my channel. There is a tool in there that allows you to see ALL the tooltips for the guardian weapons. Go check that out!
@stokic1 Guardian is basically a paladin. They can hold up quite well on their own and protect others as well. Quite a useful class, imo. And they're not really magic like Elementalists or Necromancers. The have these things called Virtues (sorry if this video talks about them already, it won't seem to load on my page). Virtues are basically buffs, so as a Guardian, you'll have a lot of protection, you'll be able to heal others, while still doing an okay amount of damage.
You know nothing, Tera max level can be reached in a little less than a month without farming your ass off and there are quests that gives a shit ton of xp, Koreans and Jap players find it incredibly easy. Have the decency to look up some infos about a game before speaking ill of it please, at least I stated my OPINIONS, I didn't claim anything except Tera has much more to offer which is true.
Of course I absolutely have to have some decency in stating my opinion in a dialogue with you, random internet person... You are more then free to play Tera, be it a grindfest or not. Whether it will "blow all other MMO's out of the water" is rather questionable and, might I add as my OPINION, rather doubtful.
Looks boring and cartoony, def not my style, the b2p thing is attractive tho, might give it a try sometime. As for now TERA blows every other MMO out if the water with no tab target and server vs server pvp with political system and stuff, just waiting for EU release.
What do I don't know ? That it won't have the MMO trinity of Healer/DPS/Tank ? That there will be underwater fight ? "Dynamic" Events ? B&S-like aim system ? ... I did some research about this game dude and I can humbly say that it absolutely does not please me, be it the Chara Design/Class choice or the lore, I just don't like it. Never said it was BAD though, it might be an excellent game+ the b2p thing is a valuable asset, just not my style, to each his own ...

@madgreenb These are not invite-only groups - anyone can join in. You can form a group "within the group" as it were, but there is nothing stopping people from coming in and playing with you, while not competing in any way, just adding to the fun.
@DakkBlackjakk Most MMOs this scale takes more than five years to make. This has a year or less of development-time if I were to speculate. They are in closed beta right now.
@SothE700k There is a lot of map to go explore, that's for sure. And with this system in place adding more land (Cantha, Elona and more) in future expansions.

@1998Canz SWTOR is new, so it is pretty laggy. Sure if you really can run Rift on ultra settings, then you can play SWTOR

@manggjiosdjg Actually GW2 is likely to have lower requirements than SWTOR. On ultra-super-high GW2 will require a lot, but at a lower setting it will be more moderate than SWTOR.

Noticed a few people who reply-commented to me have been searching through as much gw2 content as i have! If you need a lil fix of something Guildwars'ish check out this site i found. It's a trait build tool which lets you look at the setup of your skills and traits. Not complete and can't vouch 100% for it's accuracy but seems to give you an idea of what to expect and how you might setup your character.

@Cheesymunky Apart from the traitsystem that is being reworked, a LOT of utility-skills missing, the missing packs off the engineer and the mesmer being absent those tools are really very good. I made a clip about skills and traits and linked to the tool in the description there.

On Anet they said that they are releasing open beta for press in Feb. Then in March and April they will open beta up to the public and ramp up the size of it. So probably looking to invite a moderate amount of public in March to tests the waters and then in April inviting larger numbers to see how the game holds up to plenty of traffic and activity. So all going well with no big fixes being needed you could guess around June-ish. It's all guess work after April anyway until Anet say otherwise.

@Cheesymunky Yes it all really depends on feedback form the testing and how Anet feels after testing. They could be perfectly happy, product stands up to stress test, no changes needed. Meaning game could release really quick after testing. Or they could be doing a lot of changes because of feedback. Thus taking longer to release

@nanotech2080 Okay. So. I'm GUESSING. This is a guess based off closed/open beta dates. But I'd say somewhere around May/June/July is when it is going to be released because family and friends closed beta already started, closed starts soon and open is suppose to start in March I believe.

He's far from an "ass hole" like many people who play and review games with an air of importance etc. His commentators voice is perfect for light hearted videos that help and go well with his humour, which is actually funny compared to a lot of videos on here. He's always been a help throughout wow and I would guess on other games too and I tip my hat to him.
I don't actually own a hat, but if I did and it was the mid 20th century then I definately would. Keep it up boyo.

hm i like to play the tank in a game but the problem is here it looks a bit to much magic or somethiming, or is it because hes wielding a mage weapon now, will it change if i equip a spear or sword? :O

@stokic1 There are no dedicated "tanks" in GW2, which limits your options a bit. However, you can play very actively in support and control-roles with your guardian if you go mace/shield or staff. Greatsword is for straight-up-hurtin' of the foes though.

@stokic1 You will still be more magical than the warrior, but you will be dealing more physical damage with a greatsword than with a scepter/foci. I have a video on skills on my channel. There is a tool in there that allows you to see ALL the tooltips for the guardian weapons. Go check that out!

@stokic1 Guardian is basically a paladin. They can hold up quite well on their own and protect others as well. Quite a useful class, imo. And they're not really magic like Elementalists or Necromancers. The have these things called Virtues (sorry if this video talks about them already, it won't seem to load on my page). Virtues are basically buffs, so as a Guardian, you'll have a lot of protection, you'll be able to heal others, while still doing an okay amount of damage.

You know nothing, Tera max level can be reached in a little less than a month without farming your ass off and there are quests that gives a shit ton of xp, Koreans and Jap players find it incredibly easy. Have the decency to look up some infos about a game before speaking ill of it please, at least I stated my OPINIONS, I didn't claim anything except Tera has much more to offer which is true.

What do I don't know ? That it won't have the MMO trinity of Healer/DPS/Tank ? That there will be underwater fight ? "Dynamic" Events ? B&S-like aim system ? ... I did some research about this game dude and I can humbly say that it absolutely does not please me, be it the Chara Design/Class choice or the lore, I just don't like it. Never said it was BAD though, it might be an excellent game+ the b2p thing is a valuable asset, just not my style, to each his own ...

@madgreenb These are not invite-only groups - anyone can join in. You can form a group "within the group" as it were, but there is nothing stopping people from coming in and playing with you, while not competing in any way, just adding to the fun.
