Thank you for the video, reminds me of what, and why, my father & uncles did long before I was even born. To say the song makes an impact is just understating everything.
The greatest war America ever took part in- a struggle, allying capitalist and communist alike, to rid the world of Fascism, Nazism, and the Imperialism of Japan. Never was the mobilization of American soldiers so necessary, never the cause for which they fought and died so just.
It is not just about just about the Pacific or European Theater but as a war in every aspect. The Aviator, The Sailor and The Infantryman. All fought to accomplish something greater than themselves and shaped the world we know. Do not take these events and more importantly, these People for granted.
@SilentBlade47 These people did not fight for "something greater than themselves." They fought for their own freedom and of those they cared for. Individual liberty is what this country is about, not sacrifice for others.
@Spainy53 Nope, just the ones who were fighting for the right reasons. Americans--who really understand what it means to be American--fight for those reasons. You know who "fought for something greater than themselves?" The Germans. And it was called the Third Reich.
It is tempting to see World War II as a collection of old black and white photos kept by our grandparents or great grandparents parents--almost unreal and not relevant to us. This video reminds us that for those who lived (and died) during that war, the time was very real--its horrors and its triumphs were in color, as we see our own present time. Hope this helps!
This is a GREAT song it was fantastic meeting these singers in person it also touched me to hear this song becuase its meaning ful to many people out there and im honored to have people in this world that have songs like this that means somthing very touching.
Excellent video! I just discovered Carbon Leaf and The War Was In Color. This song personally touches me. Regardless of one's view of "war" I believe all the men and women, past and present, who serve our Country deserve a place in our Heart, especially those of "The Greatest Generation." I will always have my father in my Heart.

December 7, 1941. A date that will live in infamy... 69 years on, and a few old men still gather in Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i to remember.

Today is Veteran's Day. Let us pause for a minute and think of those who gave all they had for all we have today.

@nawtdavids And you presume to speak for ALL of them?

@nawtdavids Although the Third Reich was seen as "something greater" by some, many Germans saw it for what it was.
