@djordjepejakovic82 I agree with you that blockbusters are typically pretty empty movies, but unfortunately THE HELP had a particularly large budget and was, surprising, a massively successful blockbuster. Nonetheless, it wasn't completely devoid of emotion like certain movies, like the current NEW YEAR'S EVE. I hope you enjoyed the review as well. If you did, please do me the favor of subscribing to my channel and letting me know what you thought of other movies. Much appreciated!
when I lied about my juvenile delinquent actions to my dad and told him I went to the movie theater and saw The Help, he asked me what it was about. I told him it was a comedy. One of the funniest I have seen in a while. And that he should go see it.
@paperclip424 That's a story to pass on to our children, who hopefully won't have to see a movie that tells stories about people of color from the perspective of Caucasian individuals. I appreciate your telling me that - it gave me a great laugh today. What did your dad say about the movie, if he saw it or not? Also, please check out my other videos and subscribe to them - I would love to hear some more witticisms if you'll provide me with them.
@WeJustGotBetter I think urging him to see it ensured he wouldn't see it. A bit of reverse psychology. I guess that's what they send me to college for. I will be sure to subscribe. Keep up the good work.
@Morrinn3 I think it goes unexplained verbally, and since I never reached that part of Kathryn Stockett's book, I can't attest to that. But you're right - it might have been miscarriages and not abortions, and thanks a lot for that, in my discussions of the film I'll keep it in mind. What did you think of the review besides that mistake; was everything else up to par? Don't forget to subscribe and keep me posted on my ignorant mistakes!
I'm Scandinavian and pretty damn white (Bordering on pink), so my input on the racial sensitivity in this film is rather irrelevant, but the vibe I got from it mirrors a lot of what you said.
It seemed to revolve around the Skeeter character, and that the racial angle played second fiddle to the white protagonists journey of self-discovery. For a movie that bills itself to be about the dawn of the civil rights movement, that feels like poor taste.
Having the review just cut off at the end is a bit annoying which is a shame as you're a very interesting critic with well thought out opinions and an interesting point of view.
@MrJkauf Although I'm sorry about the sync issues that sometimes just crop up, I do appreciate your thoughts and comments, and obviously wish my files didn't get corrupted so easily in the transfer to Youtube. Forgive me, and please keep watching and commenting as you have.
Grate movie too bad they don`t make more movies like this. I hate hollywood blockbusters, those are just empty movies.
