  • sweep thumping :fuckyea:

  • One Of The Alltime Greatest!

  • in my opinion:

    1. Victor wooten

    2. Flea

    3. Les Claypool

    4. Geddy Lee

    best somewhat recent bass players

  • @jm2916 flea... ts .

  • si eres negro entonses sabes tocar el bajo jajajajajaja

  • Someone needs to sit this guy down and show him Bootsy's basic funk formula.

  • @brenfen dude everything Victor's doing is not only "on the one" But on the 2 3 and 4 a well!

  • This man is ridiculous! His playing is phenomenal!

  • i just laid an egg

  • He must be the next Metallica bassist.

  • BASS TREM FTW!!

  • Master of eletric bass!

  • The definitive Bass Player in the world today is Victor Lamont Wooten. Love this guy!

  • No matter how hard I try, when trying to copy this double thumb style, I can't relax my arm. My forearm cramps up and I slow down.

  • So good it's stupid.

  • That;s the definition of groove.

  • 0:29 what was that!!!???

  • @joeyda25 That was him, doing a pinch harmonic, and pulling on it while letting the harmonic ring out. Or just his brainwaves focusing all of his energy into the string and pitch shifting it up while he pulls on another string to make it look like he was "bending" the string.

  • that neck looks super thin

  • holy shit, he is easily the greatest bass player i've ever seen

  • at 1:00, Victor makes a mistake but it's still music...

  • lol @ the 2 people who pressed the dislike button

  • Victor Wooten can do more with 4 strings than the next best player can do with 6.

  • Probably the most methodologically eclectic bassist in history. Seriously, his range of techniques it unreal.

  • Wow....just fucking WOW! My fingers snap off just watching this vid!

  • wow This man is a freaking beast

  • monstrueux !

  • Look at those harmonics and check out that tone....

  • Boa Victor Wooten ist ein Gott am Bass!!

  • At the beginning the drummer it's like: HOLY SHIT O_O

  • VICTOR WOOTEN PLAYS TECH DEATH!!!!!

  • he is the living proof that four string bass is more than enough for awsome bass licks...

  • ...didn't know Jeff Daniels could drum!!

  • Jesus I never knew bass and drums by themselves could sound so good

  • 0:00-0:20 -> the mosquito comes, and he strikes =D

  • This is awesome!!!!!!

  • if the seinfeld score had been this good and the sitcom (which was really cool) would have been better equaly there would have never been another sitcom...

    *-*

  • victor wooten. claypool, and jaco pastorius awesome bassist

  • @OZDREMA1

lol...i remember my drummer once saying to me:

why dont you play a little more wooten and a little "less" claypool?" XD

  • Victor Wooten+ Jaco Pastorius= Amazing Bassists

  • yea the drummer is pissed with all those teeth showing...... Victor is a monster on bass from a jazz perspective, classical, and rock, and any other style you name. Music is music all based around rhythms, and tempos, and for the bass groove. Most of the haters on here don't know how to groove. Some people are way too technical minded to feel the groove. Technique is fine, with no groove technique is nowhere. People who have negative comments have no soul.

  • victor is still probably one of the only bassist that can tap and still be delicious in my opinion

  • @elchristo7205 u right

  • i love how he takes forever just messing and around pissing off the drummer

  • tanta roba!!!!

  • I thought it was a bit rubbish

  • @tomwoods49 thats a bit harsh since you cant do it

  • @tomwoods49 its not rubbish...just not your style

  • 2:02 just impossible to play

  • not so impossible actually

  • 0:28

  • Superb technique...but I hate his sound... so high and without strenght. I prefer much more Marcus Miller's sound and groove.

  • That's what we call groove,mr.Wooten thank you!

  • 2:20 its just perfect u.u

  • yea its fun but make songs with it. music needs to be more of a package not just solo all the time.

dont get me wrong love the groove but i can only like someone like this when they actually apply their stuff, why not write some actual songs with this sorta stuff in it?

  • Ahhh... they do. The flecktones

  • and how i love em

  • im playing 4string ,and he is the only good reason to groovi'n

  • Ok, it's 3.24AM and I'm stuck in a slap bass youtube loop. This is by far one of the most mind blowing Slap bass performances I've seen! At some points I had to stop myself exploding with joy. Top stuff!

  • @infinityjak lol ya i know wa u saying

  • The Jimi Hendrix of Bass Players.

  • @FanvanJimmy Jimmy Hendrix isn't that great...

  • LMAO! You play guitar?

  • No, he was not...

  • Hendrix was a great guitar player, and one of the best in his genre. However, he's also overrated drastically.

  • Yeah, JIMI Hendrix was awesome.

  • @13u12sT wow ... you know nothing. and you fail at life

  • @hilldominator27 No not really, at all.

  • lets talk about bass...man

  • @FanvanJimmy He's like the Jimi Hedrix AND Yngie Malmsteen of bass. He combines insane technical ability with completely amazing creative ability.

  • @FanvanJimmy Qué estúpida comparación.

  • @FanvanJimmy jimmy sang lol so ah nice comparison....

  • I don't think you're giving Wooten enough credit. Jimi Hendrix would be nowhere near as good as this if he took up bass guitar instead of a 6 string.

  • @Rawk4Life

    I completely agree

  • @Rawk4Life i think he was making an analogy one is to as another is to, ya know? unkess you just wanted to say something to be adversarial, which is probably the case.

  • @FanvanJimmy Way better than the Jim, bro

  • @FanvanJimmy The Victor Wooten of Bass Players

  • @FanvanJimmy No, he's better than JH. :D

    Because bass > guitar !

  • what bass is that?

  • is that a whammy bar??

  • yes

  • why has he got one???

  • becous he likes to use it evry then and then i suppose, not many bass players use them but he acashionly does

  • haha bro, stay in school :) they teach you how to spell there...

  • 2:19 :) thats why!

  • O.O

  • YEAH YEAH SOOO COOL

  • *not exactly

  • I'm exactly Vic's biggest fan, but it's nice to know that he can groove.

  • That's the spirit!Amazing...Cheers!!!

  • Thats an example of grooving

  • yeah!!! Victa!!!

  • Hey, I never knew Hendrix played bass. Good man.

  • Hendrix could never be truly compared to this master.

  • hendrix was a master himself,as well as wooten..can't compare a bassist to a guitar player...

  • >> AnerStroz

I agree, you cant compare guitar and bass that way. Both of them have an unique way of mastering them.

  • Hendrix actually did play bass, as well as the harpsichord and the flute.

  • Amazing!!!!!

    very very good job!!

  • the best... no more...

  • I wish I had a Whammy bar on my bass

  • me too:)

  • year 94´?

  • what's the name of this type of music! please answ on my question... thx

  • Slap funk is the only way it can really be desribed, its more a comination of bass techniques than a style if that helps :)

  • thx!!! very good music.. i like it!

  • you could also say that this is some kind of funk-jazz

  • jazz-fusion, but more a showcase of techniques and rythmic patterns and just plain old awesomeness cuz vic rocks

  • awesome video very funky

  • yeah this video is back! its so sick
