  • Is it a Standardbred?

  • Hi Folks. I do acknowledge you all and thank you for your comments. Regards HP

  • Its lovely to see someone who knows what they are talking about, to appreciate a great breed of horse the standardbred. They are sweet faithful horses. Unlike the hotblooded gallopers who can be very dangerous of the track. Please consider a standardbred there are some fantastic horses around

  • I own a "hotblooded galloper" and i must say that he is not dangerous at all, any horse can be, its just how you hadle and train them.

  • WOW that says it all really. Respect where respect is due. I hope our message reaches far and wide!

  • Im from the uk and im glad im not the only one who realizes that the BHS gets lots of things wrong, and hopefully one day their training systems will change. I have been working with problem horses for over twenty years and your the only one so far who has confirmed this to me. Riding is like a religion and there are far too many belief systems, it's time people started to listen, for the sake of wastage in horses

  • Any advice for a tiny woman trying to mount a very tall horse? He does dance around. Saddlebred/Morgan cross--very amazed by pretty much anything. Also pushy.

  • I intend doing a vid for that Emma. regards

  • I'm working a saddlebred/morgan cross who was badly neglected for 11 years--locked in a dark barn as a stud & fed only occasionally. He's now had 10 months with the herd & has learned connection, ground manners, respect, & has calmed down quite a bit. He's been lounged & saddled & bridled. However, he is very tall (16hh+) and I am tiny (5'). I can't mount like you can but need a bucket or stirrups too long. Any advice?

  • lovely horse hehe, you really seem to despise otttb's haha

  • Well done,

Thank god there is an actual horse lover posting training videos on youtube to counteract all the macho cowboys and their horse flogging/bucking techniques.

I hope a million horse owners see this video on how to introduce a horse to being ridden. That horse is on his way to a good life. No doubt there will be a quite a few grateful horses waiting in heaven for you.

  • Now that is a true compliment. Thank you Maam. Regards
