The people who strongly object to abortion under any circumstances should think long and hard about how this contradicts with their other views; namely minorities and high crime pointing out that economists make arguments that the crime waves of the 70's and early 80's especially in urban settings have improved dramatically because --- hate to say it --- because minorities have funded abortion. If your question was "how can abortions save babies?" particularly with more women using IVF treatment to become pregnant we are seeing more cases of multiple babies in the womb. In many cases the mother will not be able to successfully give birth to all of the babies. Often the only chance for any of the children and even their mother to survive the experience is for one or more of the babies in the womb to be aborted.

Did you know that 20% of fertilized eggs naturally abort out of the womb without the mother even knowing? This, of course, is long before cell division begets anything resembling a mammal.
In addition, there are a host of medical reasons why one would abort a pregnancy. ectopic pregnancy, for example. Kills both the mother and infant, if left to term.

Ummm, yes, I think the silly Pelosi/Obamacare will be repealed in months to come, I really do. A woman also has the "right to choose" responsible birth control, not to use abortion as her "oops, I forgot to see the OB-GYN about getting birth control" and use it as an afterthought. It is sickening that newborn infants are also placed in dumpsters. Obamacare is a massive failure with the American people and will be repealed eventually. :-)

I find it hilarious that people choose when they feel that it is wrong to take a "human life". They are up in arms when it comes to abortion, but don't bat an eyelid when tens of thousands of people die every year from lack of access to essential health care cause they can't afford it, and in fact alot of these anti-abortionist try to block these people access to public health care without bankrupting themselves.

Here's my take on abortion.We need to allow abortion, especially in Southern States,so I don't have to see morbidly obese adults stumbling around staring at their cell phone and getting in my way. I'd say that killing a baby to prevent this is just fine.I'm sorry the baby has to die since they're so cute but they turn into big fat adults that steal my tax dollars.I'm speaking for southern states since I live in TX.

Here's the rules on you Democrats passing Health Care:
You are going to have to strip out any language allowing any subsidies or any allowances for, abortion. Anyone who gets subsidized by the taxpayer if they can't afford insurance cannot get any abortions with their insurance.
On top of all this, you're going to have to go to Rome, genuflect before the Pope and beg "His Holiness" for forgiveness for ever supporting abortion.
That's the only way you get enough House members voting yes

Getting pregnant when you're too poor to support children is just crazy........especially when every resource to avoid the situation is available(free of charge) in this country.
If a culmination of dumb choices puts you at the end of your first trimester with no money for an abortion, then I guess its time to consider other options.
RAISING a child because you couldn't afford an abortion is also crazy......when childless couples are waiting to adopt.

Sadly, a lot of women DON'T have the means and knowledge to prevent pregnancy these days. Heard of abstinence-only sex education? It leads to unwanted pregnancies. And "Christians" are doing their best to limit access to birth control as well -- they're even starting to say that hormonal birth control and IUDs ARE abortifacient.

The thing is, there's a compelling motivation to have sex, even if you don't have birth control. If you don't know what it is, I can't really explain it to you. If they can't figure out how to take a bus to an abortion clinic, do you really think they're fit for parenthood? And you can be abstinent if you please, but most human beings like to express themselves sexually. You don't know what you're missing, obviously.

I do support a womans right to choice concerning abortion.........BUT, creating an abortion-fest with publicly funded abortions is a different story.
What you're promoting sounds a little bit more like a program to "control the poor population with abortion" and a little less like a social medical program.
Social programs like food stamps, WIC, medicaid, etc are a TINY fraction of our federal budget.......we can afford it.

Not at all. I think every woman, rich, poor or in the middle, who wants an abortion should be able to get one, quick and early. Under the new health plan, rich women will still be able to get abortions quickly. But anyone with any kind of governmental subsidy to their health plan won't. That sounds more like a program to "expand the poor population with forced birth."

Children suffer all over the world because their parents cannot afford to care for them. Try living hand to mouth. First of all, 10th grade student, learn some grammar. Hopefully in the 11th grade you'll learn that the preposition "on" can't follow the verb "require."
Second of all, this is a metaphysical argument. Whether the fetus is recognized by law as a legal person is irrelevant. The argument is whether they OUGHT to be recognized.
Third, the fact that the fetus is dependent doesn't affect it's EXISTENCE. You can't use that to make a metaphysical claim. It just doesn't follow.

So you're making the viability claim. If they can survive on their own, then they're human.
But that's inconsistent with all kinds of other cases where we DON'T make the distinction. What about people in reversible comas who rely on feeding tubes, diabetics who rely on external supplies of insulin to survive, or conjoined twins who rely on another being's organs to survive? We never question their humanity.
But somehow because the fetus is similarly dependent, we question its humanity?
