I say broaden your horizens...I listen to everything from J.S. Bach to Bachman Turner Overdrive.

In what way did they "make it there own" ?
Sure they miss out a verse and the final chorus, but that's a hardly note worth change. Other than that there is a 1 second delay during a break from verse to chorus at around the one minute mark...and the end is a little boy bandy.
They in no way made it their own. More importantly people want covers to sound different, as different as possible. Otherwise what's the point?

@dabest121 it was a no 2 hit in the 80s... and if one direction are aloud to cover it and release it im sure kim, her dad and brother wont mind as they wrote it and get lots of cash if it is a hit!!!

@FireMast23 - She is definately NOT a one hit wonder. She has over a dozen albums to her name, and approximately 50 singles which charted all over Europe, Australia and Asia. 2010 marks her 30th year in the music industry. And she is still going strong.
