The definition of DEADlift is a lift that starts from a DEAD stop, i.e., the floor. She didn't start from the floor. Her hands on the way down were way too far from her body. You can't tell the form is bad because there isn't any weight on the bar, but trust me if there was, the weight would have pulled her forward and rounded out her back.
Look up always to keep chest up. Think about curling shoulders back. Feel glutes working before shoulders... she's good but neglects some key things. Also, NEVER lock legs and always engage core BEFORE lifting
That is not any type of deadlift. That's a squat with horrible form. No business teaching a deadlift. I that bar had any weight on it it would be a disaster.

@simonpop86 you are mistaken, this is the normal deadlift, there is also the sumo deadlift, and the romanian deadlift (stiff legs deadlift) for hamstrings.
That is a really bad example of how to do a DL with an unloaded bar. I get that she wants to show a light example, but this just sucks and it's dangerously bad advice. I'd recommend no one seeing this should follow it. Her closing comments are inaccurate too. You can learn the DL better at other places on YT.

There are different ways to do a deadlift with correct form. If you want to work your legs more to involve more muscle groups you can do it this way. As long as your back is straight it is ok. It depends on what you want to workout. I do it this way because I don't have a squat rack at home and I want to get a full body workout.
@ppolotong Well, you're supposed to start with the bar on the ground. You should use 45lb plates for proper height, but you can also prop up other plates with some sort of stand to proper height. You'd be much better off to find Mark Rippetoe's vide on Deadlift Setup. Actually, it's in the related videos section. Also, keep the bar against your thighs once it passes your knees, too. Whoever certified her is an idiot.

There are different ways to do a deadlift with correct form. If you want to work your legs more to involve more muscle groups you can do it this way. As long as your back is straight it is ok. It depends on what you want to workout. I do it this way because I don't have a squat rack at home and I want to get a full body workout.

@ppolotong Well, you're supposed to start with the bar on the ground. You should use 45lb plates for proper height, but you can also prop up other plates with some sort of stand to proper height. You'd be much better off to find Mark Rippetoe's vide on Deadlift Setup. Actually, it's in the related videos section. Also, keep the bar against your thighs once it passes your knees, too. Whoever certified her is an idiot.
