Stealing, LOL. Didn't people noticed the mini ended the day in the home where it started the day? I ordered my mini9 with XP, cuz I couldn't find Linux Alt. to the windows apps., I wanted a portable for. Problem was that MS required a crippled netbook to allow the manufacturers to offer xp.

M$ will hate this and is a big threat, especially in the mini/netbook type computers, ubuntu, or any linux distro for that matter can be made into a light OS packed with features, which suit the use for netbook computers perfectly, it also gives manufacturers less overheads, as they dont have to purchase software licences off M$, once people get hold of these computers, they will realise how powerful and useful linux is and will expand the market for linux distros further.

Ubuntu is not PC or Mac, its a operating system that runs on either or systems. There's Mac versions of it.(some are PowerPC labeled).

Leopard (not Snow Leopard) lacks alot of detailed features that Ubuntu and Windows have.

Linux/Unix can run on alot of things that Windows and OSX simply can't. Although OSX is Partly Unix.

well, not exactly in MY wallet, in my mothers bank account, 1st my Nan bought me an Advent laptop (not sure what series) but now thats slowly dieing, my mother bought me this netbook, the laptop was £400, the netbook £300, so, Dell isn't the most expensive as your saying, in fact, it is the cheapest I've ever seen, and hey don't blame me for getting this Dell inspiron mini, we went for some other netbook but it was sold out, they offered this dell inspiron mini 1011...

It's nice to see Ubuntu, and Linux in general, is starting to make a dent in the commercial OS world. Even if, as it is with the mini 9, the interface is changed quite a bit to suite the company. Still, we're likely to see Linux preloaded on many more computers in the next few years. Go Penguin! :)

I've been using the free version of Mandriva. You can load everything the "Full paid version" has, it just takes some time.

well, AIM doesn't work on Linux.

But in the Internet section of the OS, there is a program called Pigion. That is a universal IM program (Yahoo, AIM, ect.)

and as for your games, maybe WINE could run them. Or you could look for some Linux games. There are a TON out there and they are all amazing!

WINE is a program that imitates the Windows API inside a Linux sistro, allowing you to run Windows programs. However, I know for a fact meplestory does run well under WINE (at least in KDE and GNOME)

You could try WINE, or some other programs of a similar nature.

Xp is also a great OS. I'm dual booting my Mac with it and have zero issues. XP has been rock solid sense SP2.

Such as color options for the theme settings. Windows has the color option "Other...", which lets you choose threw every possible color for the wallpaper. I still have Leopard and it just shows very few color options. I can check again, but don't recall having more color options.

You can get Linux pre installed. I ubuntu unint is tn the hands of dhl and should be to me by Monday or Tuesday.

Please note I do not know how many preorderd ubuntu minis were order and the pre order tag is still showing on the dell site.
