as an activist I love V because of his role as a revolutionary but I love this side of him as well, the more human side that feels lonelyness and love. Same reason I like the Phantom of he Opera (hey, those tow should meet!) but he wasn't a radical anarchist. Anyway, this song perfectly captures the more intimate side of the story and the relationship between V and Evey

Wrong. V loved Evey. It was Valerie and the many other guinea pigs used by the government that made V the person he was. His whole life was hatred, anger, revenge. When he met Evey, he cared about another person, about their well-being and safety. And he realized that he couldn't do this for revenge--he had to do it for her (and wouldn't do it unless she wanted it).

The revolution wouldn't have happened if she didn't want it.

After seeing it a few times I began to feel romance between two damaged people, feelings shut down, no meaning in life, one powerless the other powerful. He's the renaissance man, she's a street urchin. Both grow to love the other. God I wished we could see a love story develop, but then...maybe not. Imagination is more powerful.
