We have a group of kids that have been told all their lives how special they are and given trophies regardless of how deserving they were. Now they think they know it all and everyone else is stupid. I have recently come of the opinion that everyone if at all possible should invest in physical silver, or better yet if you can affford it, physical gold. Gold is about a $1000 per ounce though. I say to do that because the value of the dollar is goin down, and it's gonna *keep* going down, and physical gold and silver (not on paper) will be the only way to have an investment of value. I have several silver coins and I'm going to keep amassing them as often as I can.

Not just the boomers. It's the rest of the world. The world uses 85 mil/bbl per day. Those 42gal bbl would fill 64,909,090 55gal steel drums. If you laid those drums on end they'd make a pipeline 36,880 miles long, or encircle the earth 1 1/2 times a day. (540 times per year). With nothing on the horizon to replace this vol the world's GDPs must have, the IEA has stated a new Saudi Arabia must come online every 5yrs just to offset decline.

To put it another way, silver, the US consumes 20 mil/bbl per day. 10 mil goes just to highway fuels. All things equal, if driving was outlawed US oil consumption would be cut in half. Image all US roads vacant, no cars, no SUVs, no trucks, no more bumper to bumper rush hours traffic. But since we only produce 5.1 mil/bbl per day we'd still have to import the additional 5 mil/bbl. And, silverbird, visualize this: There are 6.1 million paved miles of road in the US. All that tar for asphalt was pumped from an oil well somewhere. Those roads need routine repair. As oil cost become more expensive the cost to repair those roads will become prohibitive. You thinking cement instead of tar? Cement is cooked to 2800 degrees using mostly coal. Lava flowing from Hawaii's volcano is 2200 degrees.
