Since I can't post in general messages, I'm coming here. I saw your comment about the blog and just wondered why you said the videos there are what THEY find compelling. I got the impression the blog was from SmartpowerPrez, not the judges. Do you know something I don't?
Kids that are afraid that they're fat? Anyway, I thought it was interesting how she seems apologetic afterwards. I have to admit, THAT part is different.
The raw quality of the images seems much better than most of what I've seen here and better than what I've seen when I've had access to a pro camera. Is there a special trick in the equipment you used? Was that all your original footage?
Thanks. No it's all shot by me - Canon XH A1. Only thing "trick" wise is basic color correction, but nothing fancy or overly elaborate. That and a polarizer filter, which helps reduce glare from car windows, water, and darkens the sky to give it a bit more color and less haze, but nothing overly fancy in general.
Yes VERY different - Neutral density filter darkens everything in general. Polarizing filter only darkens the sky and polarized (reflected light). So if you need to shoot through a store window, a polarizer filter will eliminate glare so the window is barely visible for example. Or if you are shooting water, such as in the last shot, it will eliminate glare from the sky so you can see the water and ripples more clearly.
Well then YouTube just sucks LOL - I believe you...I've been noticing YouTube flaws the past few weeks - bugs everywhere once you really start getting interested in leaving comments, email, and discussion boards. I posted something on a discussion board - YOUTUBE POSTED MY POST TEN TIMES REPEATEDLY - like a duplicate post every 20 seconds until the moderator had to step in - and it did that to TWO TOPICS.
I think it looks very professional and clean, but I'm not too sure about the dialogue and subject matter. Then again, if I saw this on TV I wouldn't know the difference...
PSAs are hard man LOL - I'll have to hone. But it will only make me stronger for the Heinz Kethcup contest - the big score - $57K...that will put a small dent in my debt LOL.
I think youtube is pretty buggy. I've had some similar problems and following the threads has confused me at times, too. You'd think the messaging would be the easiest thing to create, especially compared to all the streaming video tech issues.
Nice, but hopefully they don't get turned off cause it's a car - I think they meant buildings/homes etc. Dialogue was ok - I like the veggies/candy thing - subtly another form of clean energy LOL...at least I guess that's what you were going for.
does it take a long time for you to render HDV footage?

Just one comment: The overly-sensitive woman who is afraid she's fat been done quite a bit.

Is a polarizing filter a lot different than a neutral density filter?

I don't see any comments.

I did comment on your latest, it didn't show up, thought you erased it and were pissed about it or something.

I did no such thing! Never saw a comment from you.

See? There's a perfect example! I responded to "what do you think?" and it shows up as the response to another question! Yikes.
