An accidental head butt ended this one. That's why boxing is such a great sport...you never know what's going to happen. If Torres survived the round somehow thereafter, he more than likely would have taken this one, but since he was caught by a flush shot immediately following the foul, it became a bonafide knockout. This is a self inflicted injustice. Torres was an awesome puncher, but, even if he fights again, his career is sadly over. Good luck Ricardo!

I think Torres can definitely argue the headbutt bothered him, although Holt did like he was supposed to in the midst of battle. Unfortunately for Torres, in that short period, he just caught what he was gonna get for not being prepared.

In those last few seconds, since the ref didn't break, the fighters were always to protect themselves.

The problem with boxing is that it is poorly organized. If the sanctioning bodies were like leagues that were structured to give the best fighters a chance, boxing would be much more interesting. A bunch of washed up fighters fighting up and comers. Need much more oversight and a competition committee to arrange the best possible fights. Kind of like the UFC, the WEC, and the defunct IFL. No more Hagler Hears style fights (Hag/ Mugabi either) because greedy mongrels control the fights.
