@ProblemHonorStudent And do the math on the tidal forces that would generate. There would be a massive, MELTED mountain on that side of the earth. And the seas would boil. And then there's the atomsphere exchange. Where is the evidence? None exists. Mainstream cosmology made far more accurate predictions of the makeup of the atmosphere of Venus and Mars than Val.
All it is cherry-picked evidence with disregard to the fundementals of science. If a hypothesis loses to basic physics, it's dead.
"Pythagoras said one of the 5 planets is a comet, one which is a planet that returns in long intervals and only rises a little above the horizon"
- Aristotle, Meteorologica.
Only Venus and Mercury rise a little above the horizon.
you ppl dont know anything, bunch of uneducated twits. Sagan was hired by the powers that be to cover up the truth. just wait till the final transit of venus takes place in 2012... just you uneducated twits wait and see what happens
Velikovsky's "theory" was totally absurd. It amazes me that people are still defending it. He massively fails at explaining how Venus formed from Jupiter, why its so different from the composition of Jupiter, how Venus was able to change the Earth's rotation and then pass by it again and correct it, how such a close encounter didn't kill everything and change the moon's orbit, etc.
Even if you grant the truth of biblical passages, why invoke this theory at all. The hand of God would be enough
@soupdragon42 I gave this video two minutes. If the music annoys, I move on. There are thousands of potential viewers like me who won't turn down the sound. Why should we?
@ZeekWolfe1 You are the first to complain about the music, not that I would expect everyone to like it. Personally, I don't judge books by their covers, but by their content.
@soupdragon42 I do not judge a book by it's cover, either. If a book had an annoying cover I still would give the contents a chance because after I turned the first l page I would no longer have to look at it. In fact, I could remove the cover. Immanuel Velikovsky is an interesting character of borderline science. I read "Worlds in Collision" and found it troubling. It is a good read. Your music selection is out of place and downright silly. It trivializes Vilikovsky needlessly.
@ZeekWolfe1 I turned down the volume, and I enjoyed this greatly! This is really important information. I knew of these other individuals mentioned, but I did not know they are connected. Music helps some, just as with some posters of those wonderful time lapse videos of the night sky. For me, the images are inspiring on their own without the music, tasteful as it is. It's the information we're all seeking after here, and it's great stuff! Thanks for posting soupdragon42. :)
@bennoach "Worlds in Collision" by Immanuel Velikovsky is a troubling read, but one of some importance. I watched this video all the way through. The music is still very annoying and I would tell others to move on, nothing to see here and for sure, nothing worth listening to.
Velikovsky cause controversy because it is threat to the Theory of Evolution and a little bit threat to the religion. The elite don't want people to question the Evolution theory.
@tusialofa They don't want people thinking for themselves, really. If everyone became scientists, it won't take much for them to ask God for themselves (some people stop at one point, though). They want us hooked on Authority figures to tell us what to think.
Scientists don't like when original thinkers muscle in on their turf, thats why they censor, lie, bully and generally behave in the most outrageous manner towards anyone who upsets their belief system. Velikovsky must be at least 10 Sagan's. 100 Cox's.
Nice video. I think we need to remember one thing- our ancestors were not stupid or unintelligent. They lived in their environment and survived- or we wouldn't be here .They paid far closer attention to their environment than we do. If they made a calendar that was 360 days long then I'm pretty sure that the year at that time was 360 days and things have changed in the intervening time.Take the solar ecliptic , nothing lines up the way it should. Billiards has been played here!
...worlds in collusion, was the only book I read both the first page and the last, most types of literature eye don't get past the first page before I fall asleep.
~never had any problem finding someone to fill me in on all them pages after the first one though, so it does all work out , as this not only gives me the authors gist, but the readers take based on there programing prior to input the novel or journal.
Relgious programing is different, the pages burn and taste bitter, so no read any
soupdragon42...great stuff...Robert Otey of feandftdotcom and i are getting ready to release a powerful expose on the cosmology of Walter Russell. Like Immanual, he too was ignored because of the profound implications his work presented. Yes, the important thing is that NOW interdisciplinary science can happen. Also, Dr V's accessing indigenous "myths" has become commonplace among catastrophist scientists. Dr V credited ancient people with being able to call a spade a spade, the best they could. NO ONE had ever done that before. Did Dr V get all of it right? No. It is now thought that 12.9 kya a comet impacted and killed the mammoths and Clovis man. There've been ~8 more major impacts since then.
Whether right or wrong does not matter. Most of the great attempts by scientific thinkers to understand the world around us have been shown to be wrong. The great minds were wrong that said that rocks do not fall out of the sky. Until they said until the 1960s that Meteor Crater was not an impact crater. Only in 1994 did they accept that impacts in the solar system happen NOW. Somehow not everyone became a catastrophist. Some who did ripped off Dr V's ideas. NONE of them have credited him.
STRANGE NO MENTION OF SATURN....VELIKOVSKY SAID THE DELUGE ON EARTH WAS BECAUSE OF A CATACLYSM BETWEEN SATURN AND JUPITER WHICH LED TO THE FORMATION OF VENUS I BELIEVE
People has forgotten what real science is.Real science is not the reigning dogmatic story told by the mainstream. It is suppose to be an open dialog between competing theories,in which a theory is judge in its ability to predict.Today, mainstream scientists shun those brave souls who dare to challenge the party line,be it cosmology or evolution. The historical sciences today differ little from religion, where those who challenge the core paradigm is treated like heretics. No advance can be expected
Check the online Velikovsky archives for the first four ages of man but you will miss out on the published works which may have publishing rights to all the work he did reading ancient observations and events. Two pole reversals separate four ages and accompanied by magnetic pole reversals. Electricity controls the planets around the Sun as the generator. Good work to the Doctor almost as good as a Tesla flying machine which is the greatest thing.
this is awesome - great video. I've long been a fan of Velikovsky, I especially like that you point out that while some of his theories may be off a bit, he's spot on in general and this should be recognized and shared with humanity.
Science is so hostile to anyone who opens their closed confused world to unorthodox idea's. The youtube video about the astronomer Vera Rubin called strange scientific attutudes is a must watch. Velikovsky is a genius. Sagan a hypocrite.
@the0fart0machine Sagan was "schooled", I think he tried as good as he could, to his credit he gave Velikovsky some "repair" after the somewhat ridiculing comments.
It is not easy for a mere human being to fathom it all at once.
He got some things wrong and some things right but he never claimed to know everything . Is oil a fossil fuel or was it formed in an abiotic process? Is it possible that the present BP oil disaster actually reveals something much greater ? The real truth is that all we have are theories but some theories are ignored .
Good job; might I suggest that the 'repetition of trauma' no longer seems to hold; the victims of the 911 repeatedly told to recall the emotions and did worse than those that did not repeat their story. May I suggest that genuine grief at losing a global trade and specific homelands were sufficient to focus the remainder on what was gone and unfortunately never be achievable again? Sorrow and grief last life long. Myth becomes the province of religion.
@Shavarnarak A kook who was able to make numerous accurate predictions, though. Contrast that with mainstream cosmology, which is going nowhere very slowly!
@soupdragon42 A kook who's predictions haven't seen the light of day, much less any credible evidence while the, albeit flawed 'standard model' has a rich mathametical foundation that produces testable predictions. As far as going nowhare slowly, think about the entire history of science, and when, and how discoveries were made. The last 100 years have moved science farther than the previous 1000, and today we are still moving faster than anytime before that.
@soupdragon42 Not true. No accurate predictions were made, unless one gets selective as hell with the interpretation. And mainstream cosmology got us to the moon, correct? How many sattelites have we put on the mark from millions of miles away? Without accounting for any of Vel's pseudo-science-magnetic-electrical-mystery forces. And without every encountering them, I might add. And without these mystery forces, his entire hypothesis falls apart. How did the earth start spinning again?
@soupdragon42 Yes, angular momentum has changed greatly in the last 50 years. Block me again, you censoring sissy. If you had TRUTH instead of lies here, you could debate rather than ban.
You have ANY peer-reviewed evidence for this crap you're spewing?
More like Shavarnarak = No rocker at all (definitely)
Just a bunch of polemical fluff that passes for debate . . . the FACT that I.V. got so much correct or so much close to mark or at the very least narrowed the swath of questions to that which had historical underpinnings in human experience were his main contributions...he would not have had time to waste on internet trolls.
@Shavarnarak Read the Vedas...There is history on the birth of Venus into this system. Just because Western civilization is led to believe everything we're fed by the ones that have a vested interest in our stupidity, doesn't mean we don't have a choice to educate ourselves.
am i right in thinking that Velikovsky reckons most sun worship myths were not about our own sun but saturn which appeared very much larger along time ago ?
cheers, you know everything seems to point to saturn...the god Thoth and the word Ankh..its like this saturn mindset is in control of the alphabet and written word by their clever symbolism..
It should be noted that 'piece of magic' can be more accurately described as 'comparison of observations to general solutions of maxwell's electrodynamic field equations as applied to charged particles in a space using the methods of vector calculus under varying field conditions'. This, by the way, is the same piece of magic used in almost all modern engineering fields. Common face saving method: Go to a library and read something useful before making ridiculous posts.
I always knew Velikovsky was a genius. The answer respect the way he was attacked resides basically in two explanations.
The first: Envy. It is known scientists are the priests of the new religion: science.
The second: Such soupdragon says, or better said, Velikovsky: there is a sort of amnesia, that prevents us to accept the reality. And I have to say at least: Sagan suffered (like most of us) that illness.
This explains quite clearly how Extra Terrestrial Races can travel through Space at faster than light speed. Even being able to jump into other Dimensions I dare say. With this abundant and ever changing FREE ENERGY in Space, there is no doubt about harnessing it for Interstellar travel, ANYWHERE.
Ha! There you go again silencing debate, like a true Torquemada! Black holes don't fit your dogmatic view of the world, so their very mention must be censored. Quite the scientist, aren't you? This all must be quite embarrassing for you.
Please refer to my videos on Black Holes. Also lookup the work of the mathematician Stephen J Crothers. This has nothing to do with Velikovsky. Best. Soup
This guy was a Giant living at the mercy of pigmes! Its now commonly known that Plasma from the sun knocks out sattelites affects weather storms, and national power grids worldwide etc (yes I know there was NO sattelites in the 40's or 50's until Sputnik) This Guy should have schools named after him!
Sagan isn't defending Velikowsky at all. He is just stating that such boycott goes against what a scientific mind stands for.
Velikowsky catastrophes are entirely impossible without wildly varying the Newtonian/relativistic mechanics. And this mechanics have been proved right not only by planet orbits but by the calculation of the trajectories of human spacecrafts.
Velikowsky has a rate of success getting things right akin to astrologers: by making up random stuff, some things will be right.
Newtonian/Relativistic mechanics are not working. There are too many anomalies. All spacecraft trajectories, for example, have required adjustment, and many have crashed.
Velikovsky made specific predictions based on an electromagnetic model of the solar system, the majority of which have proved correct over time.
Comapring Velikovsky with an astrologer is cheap and bigoted.
@PopeAsbestos Gravitational lensing can easily be said to be a misapplication of Einstein's work. It is not proof. Black holes are also more math. No physical evidence has ever been found to support this math, but a significant amount of re-working (aka, fudging) has been done to include other imaginary things like dark matter and dark energy.
Plasma cosmology, in comparison, has not had to revisit its hypotheses as data comes in. Predictable, found in experiment, it is an easier swallow.
Interesting that no mention is made here of Nicolai Tesla, who's groundbreaking work in the study of plasma and em fields and who first proposed Universal plasma discharges...and their composition (which has just recently been verified) likely played a part in Velikovsky's cosmology. I don't know if this is true, as I have not read anything of Velikovsky.
I have made a separate video about Tesla. My most recent video in fact. I'm not aware of Tesla actually using the word Plasma, but there are many interesting parallels with his work.
soupdragon- the reaosn Tesla did not mention "plasma" is because such a term was applied by -I believe- Alfen.
descriptions of Tesla's experiments point to plasmatic effects.
in fact, there account of "blobs" of energy accumulated in the ceiling of his lab, as he lit it (if memory serves) wirelessly. can't recall if this was before they burned down his lab. at any rate, "space energies" as Tesla studied them seem to behave plasmatically. Radiant energy.
Yes, Alfven is my hero, and mentioned in most of my videos. Tesla inferred that space was alive wilth electromgnetism, but I am not aware of him ever using the term plasma. Best Regards. Soup
MacMillian scientific books were threatened to be blacklisted if Velikovsky's books were published. So Putnam gave it up. Scientific predictions are not wanted from ancient text analysis and sighted deduction. Illuminati science is ordered from above and not deducted by the individual. Gee, almost like observations in a scientific method but who cares. Too close the the FBI banned science of Tesla was Velikovsky's electric universe and now of Eric Lerner promoted by Bill Lyne.
the geological column, geology, the fossil record, Atavisms, ERVs, Embryology, paleontology, comparative genetics, transmission and population genetics, comparative anatomy, comparative zoology...etc were all froms of physical evidence.
But if you think mythology is a more valuable scoure for evidence be my guest. Just don't expect the courts to apply your ridicously low standards of proof.
Darwin did not base his theories on this list... these are things that have been shown to support Darwinism over time, just like Velikovsky's theories and predictions have been and will be quantified. In fact Darwin was inspired by watching ants... sure beats Mythology.
anyhoo I kind of agree with the sentiments of the video and think that the treatment of velikovky shows how paradigm of science reeks of fundamentalism, self interest and self perpetuation. I consider this to be the death of human intelligence and death of the quest for truth.
"Velikovsky's theories and predictions have been and will be quantified."
Already now we have empirical evidence which exactly contradicts the 'theories' made by Velikovsky. We can blow them out of the water. Also already established fundamental laws are violated by his theories & his methodology was flawed beyond reason.
We are to overtrow everything that works because of some mythology+speculation?
Darwin was aware of much information supportive of catastrophic events, but chose to ignore it for the most part. He even mentioned some of it in The Origin of The Species, like a criminal leaving clues behind him.
It's funny how people can hold contradictory ideas in mind, and carry on regardless!
"Men occasionally stumble over the truth," as Churchil said, "but most of them pick themselves up and carry on as if nothing ever happened."
my freind i dont know if you know but the Gravity model is not proven out by observation....that is why we have to keep on creating new explantions like Dark matter and Dark energy to componsate for the lack of evidence of mass in regards to the big bang /gravity model......The Electric/Plasma model has born the corect fruits of explanation for over 1oo years now..without the need to Hypothosise new "stuff" just to keep a idea alive.
You are 100% correct, not to mention all the publishing houses that rule the academic world, hence the attack on the man. What is interesting, he has never been proven wrong, and in many instances he has been proven correct. Dogma is what most science should be called. I have read 4 of Velikovsky's books and they are brilliant.
now connect the dots litterally, to our twin universe on the 5th dimension & our true twin star (Earth in future) Arcturus, which came into alignment with us on 08/08/08 increasing earths electromagnetic frequency..the 16th and 22nd of august 08 are peaks of this energy which will be followed by more planetary alignments increasing the surge..get ready, you are full of metals which are magnetic and your internal frequency as a fragmentary body is rising fast.
By the way, WOW, what beautiful knowledge Beloved, we have GOT TO connect, or REconnect. This is a hugely PROFOUND statement and please, keep this coming, I hope your new video pertains to even just part of what you stated here! Your growth has been truly incredible and by the way, I feel totally opposite than I did yesterday. Feels like two different people....gettin ready for the 22nd and clearly I had to detox a bit. Let's chat soon, I would adore your energy head on!!
one concrete fact which surly can not be disputed is velikovskys basic premis of catastrophism which since shumaker levi is surly beyond any reasonable doubt. the idea was however dismissed as ludicrouse at the time it is however verifiable just by counting the cr4aters on the moon.
Velikovski is "the bomb". Catastrophism is the only viable "anti-darwinist" theory. Carl Sagan contributed to the silencing on Velikovski back in the day cuz if they gave it creedence, all their evolutionary theories would have to be revised. Shame on you Sagan the Pagan!
I also urge people to scrutinize the evidence. The mainstream made the equally vague predition that venus would be around about the same temperature as Earth. Their prediction, while vague, was still way out.
I urge everyone watching this video to do a little research on this Velikovsky fellow. All of his so called predictions were so incredibly vague that a few were destined to be accidentally correct. Take for example the temperature of Venus. He predicted it would be hot. His reasoning? Because it was ejected from Jupiter. How hot? No temperature range, no description of the mechanism, just that it would be hot. This type of prediction comes from the horoscope, not from intelligent thought.
I've read worlds in collision 2 years ago.. got it from my father who said it might be interesting for me to read...well...it was. read it to..it's very interesting!
Yes.. many people know about this. You know they are not going to tell the general population. Have we not all seen 2010 Space Odyssey. They show the birth of a second sun. There have been people trying to get the word out for a long time now.
The text disappears a bit too quickly for enjoyable reading. Though, I understand the desire to pack the information into 10 minutes. Please consider average reading and comprehension time.
check out the recent discovery by of huge birkelnd currents connecting the earths pole to the sun. I think it was discovered by Japans Hinode spacecraft. sometimes they are called flux tubes.
The angular momentum of rotation creates currents of charged particles in the core of the planet and it works like a magnet only much bigger. When you rotate a a coil in a magnet you create a current..which is EM (i.e., charged electrons). The currents interact and you get...thunderbolts.
Excellent job! This is what the REAL electric universe looks like -- thanks for providing an antidote to the highly deceptive, pseudo-electric universe videos posted by provocateurs on You Tube! (That's pointed at YOU, tu24 bozos!)
For those who enjoyed this, What a documentary called , "The Electric Universe" where Wallace Thornhill and David Talbott get to further explain Velikovski's theories.
They should have a movie based on his life or a a documentary that is of class. The World must know of his work. The science "circles" were probably angry at im for writing a book dedicated to the "laymen" (a masonic term), and not the Giants.
Sagan was jelous that he did not think about it first and Graham Hancock never gave props to Velikovsky, even though Hancock mentioned what Velikovsky said first
@ 06:00 "some older calendars had only 260 days in a year". Is this referring to the Mayan Tzolkin calendar? And if it is, wasn't it not mapping the year, but was more like a personal calendar to map the inner cycle of concsiousness etc? Mayans had dozens of calendar to map different things. If this is referring to the Tzolkin 260 day calendar, then it is misleading.
alien8ted, you have quite the audacity. You call Velikovsky a "simpleton." FYI, Velikovsky was a friend and colleague of Albert Einstein, a student of Freud's first pupil Wilhelm Stekel, and Israel's first practicing psychoanalyst. If I were unkind, I would call you a liar. But I'm kind so I'll just call you a simpleton.
I fail to see where a SCIENTIST like Velikovsky would be swayed by conventional entities especially Religion! No way! He, like Nikola Tessla was WAY beyond such limited and dogmatic "thinking", alien8ted, do not know where you got that from!
A man who sincerely quests for Truth ignores no possibility, no matter how bizarre or implausible within current understanding. This is the problem with modern "science" - a spectrum of "permissible thought" has been established, and those venturing outside that spectrum are ostracized. The Inquisition exchanged a crucifix for a Darwin fish.
alien8ted. You are guilty of taking the myths literally in order to discredit them, and then you have the nerve to accuse Velikovsky of this crime
He was looking at the remarkable concordances in differing myths, couched in different cultural terms, that clearly have value beyond their symbolic representation. That is the whole point
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Velikovsky was neither a hero nor a villain, but a simpleton who assumed that everything in the bible was literally true, then tried to twist science however he could to fit with his blind faith in this ridiculous old superstition. It's like a modern biologist assuming the Greek myths are true and saying there must once have been a species of flying horses.
And that's the core of the problem: YOU DON'T KNOW what happened in the past. "Science" fascists claim a few old bones are "man's ancestor," but when someone like Velikovsky tries to make sense of bizarre, broadly shared mythological motifs, he's a "simpleton."
Velikovksy was NO VILLAIN. He was right on more things than not. But independent thinking has NEVER been tolerated by an establishment. The same persecution Velikovsky experienced is occurring again, right now, with people being IMPRISONED for so-called "Holocaust denial." The attacks on Intelligent Design, too, result in persecution; fortunately not prison, but definitely censure and loss of professional career.
I hate 'videos' which are actually just a moving scroll of writting that you have to read really slowly, just write it down in what's called an article..
Why make this Vid? You could have presented the SAME material in a frikking TEXT file! I hate vids that presents useless pictures with scrolling text. A waste of bandwidth and time! If I wanted to read something I would have went to a book site!
No one should take any notice of that illuminati shill Carl Sagan he was an idiot and one of the most boreing speekers with that stupid slow drawl in his speech it is time to totally ingnor these machanical minded scientific bores that cant see anything beyond their stupid noses oh by the way your playing one of my favorite tracks dont you want me by felix
Bloody brilliant! Met you at the EU conference in Cambridge I think, Im the kiwi dude, we went out for a beer with Matthew the other "layman"! Great to see you've done a bunch more videos since then, keep it up my man :-)
Looking more and more likely. Couple this with Marco Rodin's Vortexian maths, The Holographic Universe theory, Freemasonry symbology, Cymatics, DNA revelations concerning light etc. and a comlete and 'understandable' picture of the entire cosmos and 'us' becomes very explainable. As well as the suppression of all this, which includes free energy, by the establishment.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
one would think that if you really wanted to disseminate information that doing it in a way that was not annoying would make sense but no you have added a terrible mind numbing sound track instead of a voice over. why do you punish people that you are attempting to pass information to? are you that much of an unconscious jerk?
This theory is "out there" but if space is jam packed with electricity and EM energy then wouldn't that mean we can technically harness that power and make some sort of super fast super efficient space ship of some sort?
Very good deduction. That is in fact what has happened. The ships don't have to eject anything to move; they "push" (or pull) against the medium and are powered by it. Anywhere. Many of the flying discs that have been sighted are supposedly terrestrial.
Some people who have seen them with binoculars and such have reported seeing typical USAF emergency pilot extraction signs painted on them.
Thats what I was thinking when I made that comment about harnessing the energy around us. That since its all over, and apparently limitless the propulsion system isn't really a propelling it is acting more like a gear in a bigger system.
With no emission or waste in a system that has limitless power to harness I would think near instantaneous travel would be possible, then that could mean it could travel so fast time would stop around it.
There's tons of information on the web if you Google the right words. Then you'll have to separate the wheat from the chaff. Peswiki has some related information, and there are other sites. Also a lot of good books at Amazon. Bill Lyne has good information, even if the titles to his books are a bit flaky. Google Tom Bearden, Jon Bedini, etc. Good Luck.
Sagan still thought Velikovsky was wrong during his own lifetime, but the facts are stacking up in favour of Velikovsky, despite the wicked and continuing suppression of this brilliant man!
At Least Carl Sagan had the decency to admit what was going on. Fair play to him. Cosmos was made after the earlier debates
It's well known that Sagan ridiculed Velikovsky in a public debate. I would like to know whether the short clip of Sagan-saying-sorry was after or before that debate?

TravelerDiogenes 1 year ago
Whether right or wrong does not matter. Most of the great attempts by scientific thinkers to understand the world around us have been shown to be wrong. The great minds were wrong that said that rocks do not fall out of the sky. Until they said until the 1960s that Meteor Crater was not an impact crater. Only in 1994 did they accept that impacts in the solar system happen NOW. Somehow not everyone became a catastrophist. Some who did ripped off Dr V's ideas. NONE of them have credited him.

It should be noted that 'piece of magic' can be more accurately described as 'comparison of observations to general solutions of maxwell's electrodynamic field equations as applied to charged particles in a space using the methods of vector calculus under varying field conditions'.

Velikowsky has a rate of success getting things right akin to astrologers: by making up random stuff, some things will be right.
jotabe1789 2 years ago
Newtonian/Relativistic mechanics are not working. There are too many anomalies. All spacecraft trajectories, for example, have required adjustment, and many have crashed.
Velikovsky made specific predictions based on an electromagnetic model of the solar system, the majority of which have proved correct over time.
Comapring Velikovsky with an astrologer is cheap and bigoted.
soupdragon42 2 years ago
Newtonian/Relativistic mechanics are not working? Do you care to provide an alternative explanation of say, gravitational lensing or black holes?
PopeAsbestos 2 years ago
I am not obliged to provide an alternative explanation. These theories need burying, not debating.
That having been said, plasma cosmology has provided rational explanations based on experiment and evidence rather than abstract math.
soupdragon42 2 years ago

I'm not aware of Tesla actually using the word Plasma, but there are many interesting parallels with his work.
soupdragon42 3 years ago
soupdragon- the reaosn Tesla did not mention "plasma" is because such a term was applied by -I believe- Alfen.
descriptions of Tesla's experiments point to plasmatic effects.
in fact, there account of "blobs" of energy accumulated in the ceiling of his lab, as he lit it (if memory serves) wirelessly. can't recall if this was before they burned down his lab. at any rate, "space energies" as Tesla studied them seem to behave plasmatically. Radiant energy.

MacMillian scientific books were threatened to be blacklisted if Velikovsky's books were published. So Putnam gave it up. Scientific predictions are not wanted from ancient text analysis and sighted deduction. Illuminati science is ordered from above and not deducted by the individual. leezus83 3 years ago
anyhoo I kind of agree with the sentiments of the video and think that the treatment of velikovky shows how paradigm of science reeks of fundamentalism, self interest and self perpetuation. I consider this to be the death of human intelligence and death of the quest for truth.
leezus83 3 years ago
"Darwin did not base his theories on this list."
Have you read the origin of species?
"Velikovsky's theories and predictions have been and will be quantified."
Already now we have empirical evidence which exactly contradicts the 'theories' made by Velikovsky. We can blow them out of the water. Also already established fundamental laws are violated by his theories & his methodology was flawed beyond reason.
We are to overtrow everything that works because of some mythology+speculation?
infinit888 3 years ago
Darwin was aware of much information supportive of catastrophic events, but chose to ignore it for the most part. He even mentioned some of it in The Origin of The Species, like a criminal leaving clues behind him.
It's funny how people can hold contradictory ideas in mind, and carry on regardless!

soupdragon42 3 years ago
I urge everyone watching this video to do a little research on this Velikovsky fellow. All of his so called predictions were so incredibly vague that a few were destined to be accidentally correct. Take for example the temperature of Venus. He predicted it would be hot. His reasoning? Because it was ejected from Jupiter. How hot? No temperature range, no description of the mechanism, just that it would be hot. This type of prediction comes from the horoscope, not from intelligent thought.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Velikovsky was neither a hero nor a villain, but a simpleton who assumed that everything in the bible was literally true, then tried to twist science however he could to fit with his blind faith in this ridiculous old superstition.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
one would think that if you really wanted to disseminate information that doing it in a way that was not annoying would make sense but no you have added a terrible mind numbing sound track instead of a voice over. why do you punish people that you are attempting to pass information to? are you that much of an unconscious jerk?

This theory is "out there" but if space is jam packed with electricity and EM energy then wouldn't that mean we can technically harness that power and make some sort of super fast super efficient space ship of some sort?
HIKARUJLB 4 years ago 2

Good Luck.

Do a search on Tesla's electric car, which supposedly tapped into this "stream".

There is strong evidence that those in control actually did listen to Velikovski and have acted upon it.
Then they have continued with business-as-usual for the rest of us because the truth rocks their boat too much regarding control structures.
Good video. I hope more people watch it. Especially younger people with an interest in astronomy.

Very informative video. I did not know about Velikovsky and his ideas that well, but this shed some light on this area.
shrunkensimon 4 years ago 2
Sagan still thought Velikovsky was wrong during his own lifetime, but the facts are stacking up in favour of Velikovsky, despite the wicked and continuing suppression of this brilliant man!
At Least Carl Sagan had the decency to admit what was going on. Fair play to him. Cosmos was made after the earlier debates

Excellent!
It's well known that Sagan ridiculed Velikovsky in a public debate. I would like to know whether the short clip of Sagan-saying-sorry was after or before that debate?

Great stuff. How can this vicious suppression be justified?
