  • Simple as it may seem our disastrous effect on the environment is crying out for the end of rainforest decimation, the reforestation of every piece of land available on a global scale, and perhaps far less babies being born.

I'm sure nature will then sort itself out.

  • Except climate change is complete BS...

  • The first Christmas snow in the Netherlands in 14 years ! Today Obama is in Copenhagen along withe The President of IRAN ! 4 inches of snow today there !

  • Global Waring /Climate change is a MYTH by the GLOBAL ELITE ! THEY WANT GLOBAL TAX AND ONE WORLD ORDER ! SNOW this winter 09 ! You can not trust science anymore . The only science used now will be against us all !

  • CO2 doesn't have anything to do with global warming!

    watch?v=6TqqWJugXzs

  • It's all about handing the UN our sovereignty and creating a one world government and controlling you through a carbon tax credit system.

  • Global Warming Scam:

World bank to tax you for "Carbon".

    Scam

  • As statistical facts shows:

larger amount of CO2 in th atmosphere causes all kinds of plants (not only trees!) to grow and more and better.

    -Oh why's that?

-Because plants breathe with CO2 u stupid!

Stop watching TV all of u "global-warming-idiots"! xD

  • If the living conditions of the plants are harmed they're not able to grow more and better even when CO2 levels rise. If this guy (and most part of the scientific community) is wrong, prove it, make a video yourself

  • Living conditions? We were talking about CO2 Dude.

And Its all obvious, U can hear about this being a scam even in TV now sometimes. Its all about carbon tax, money and more controll over ppl.

99% of worlds bes scientist know it.

    Wake up.

  • this looks like hd on high quality..

  • I live in a place In B.C., Canada, and we depended on the trees to give us jobs, mills, bush workers, and so on. Problem is not the pine trees, a larg part of what we use for wood, are red and dying, or grey and dead. The bugs are attacking even the smaller trees, and now the fur. I recall seeing all green out by clear lake, yes a saw mill, but now, it's red, dead or clear cut. Sad to see.

  • You are an easily manipulated person if you believe what you wrote, Whitehawk. The lumber companies in BC plant more trees than they chop down. It is in their own best interest. These new forests are healthier than ones from mother nature because the undergrowth is cleared and they can grow more quickly and have less chance of forming large fires.

Environmental-cases are the biggest liars! Ignore them and check the facts for yourself. Ignore their noise.

  • LOL the add in the video says "Global Warming Hoax" and the add to the right of the video says "Lets stop global warming!" HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

  • this is terrible!!!

  • Now its going to be ManBearPigBeetle

  • The forrest is adapting to the changing environment. but change is aparently perceived as catastrophe.

  • u have rite at 90%, humans is changing the other 10%

  • earth is warning us, scientists are warning us....we need to stop global warming now

  • wow, im scared, IDIOT

  • haha that was so gay lol

  • yah YOURE GAY, OIL SUCKER hahahah!

  • so why do you watch it?

  • We aint having a warm winter this year thats for sure.

  • sad that most of us don't pay much attention to xmas trees except at xmas

  • Allow me to educate you. Skepticism is not denial. In fact it is the use of the word "denial" that is the heart of the propaganda machine jamming "global warming" down our throats without allowing intelligent debate. It's the skeptics who want to talk about it. The proponents want to silence us.

  • Everyone should have a freedom of speech.

No one has freedom of facts.

Truth and facts are not a democracy.

Climate change isn't open for debate, just like evolution isn't, or atomic theory or anything connected with science in any way. In the scientific world, your opinion has the authority of a carrot.

  • "This ideology preaches earth and nature and under the slogans of their protection similarly to the old Marxists wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central, now global, planning of the whole world." - Czech President Vaclav Klaus

    I'm out.

  • Of course you are out, you didn't answer the question.

  • I don't think my original reply got through due to the included web address. For answers to many of your questions, see icecap(dot)us .

  • the fuck are u talking abnout?????

  • Isn't open for debate? You mean all scientists agree on the micro-stucture of the atom. Or of space-time? Get the picture? Science is all about debate, using the facts at hand. Scientists disagree all the time. And the climate data is far too unreliable to draw unassailable conclusions from. Shit, they can't even predict the weather tomorrow, and you believe the computer models? Remember the "coming ice age" of the '70's? Your screen name is a joke.

  • Whoa, I said it isn't open for debate in the public realm, which refers to all the 12-year-olds who believe the Jews are behind all evil and the illuminati controlling the world with global warming..

When someone claims that "GW is the biggest hoax ever" you know something is not right.

I am not claiming any of the things you accused me of. And my screen name is exactly right :)

  • And of course scientists disagree, that's their job :). The overwhelming majourity of scientists agree that GW IS man-made and have the data to back it up (that's why they are a majority in the first place :)

This article is spot on what I mean:

google: "BEYOND THE IVORY TOWER: the scientific consesnus" and open the sciencemag article.

  • You mean all the 52 scientists that singed the 2007 IPCC report are the majority?

  • Ha no, just NO. An overwhelming amount of scientists understand how the earth works and they KNOW that the earth should actually be hotter. When we say "Global Warming" its not bad for our planet, that will adapt and survive. Its bad for US as humans. Our civilization will not survive one

  • Looking at global warming from a heavily distorted, politicized point of view you're missing the scientific reality of a lot of this research. As hard as it may be for you to believe, not all science is done with a political agenda. There's actually quite a bit of scientific research that backs up the existence of global warming as being far from a hypothesis, but a reality. Maybe they wouldn't have to "jam it down our throats" if most people weren't so thick-headed.

  • Oh, and don't get me wrong, I don't like the jamming down throats thing, but quite honestly, with over 90% of the world being complete morons, I don't see it working any other way.

  • The scientific reality stuff works both ways, doesn't it, nickfalzone? There is evidence of GW, but also evidence of cooling and all kinds of holes in the theory, no? And it is a fact that scientists are being intimidated against skepticism, a decidedly antiscience M.O. The politicizing is clearly being done from the "believer" viewpoint.

  • Ah, perhaps the fact that temperatures aren't rising? More and more scientists are coming forward about this fact. Man made global warming is a farce and CO2 is not a pollutant.

Fluctuations in Earths temperature have occurred since the beginning of time and there's nothing we can do about it. Temps are actually -falling- now, and they have been since a plateau was reached ~1998. Even "ScienCentral" will eventually have to acknowledge this fact.

  • you, apparently, are either a creationist/illuminati retard, or just someone completely unaware of what you are talking about (latter more likely)...

watch these two videos in order:

    watch?v=52KLGqDSAjo&feature=channel_page

    watch?v=PoSVoxwYrKI&feature=channel_page

  • Name calling. That'll convince me.

Facts are facts, opinions are opinions and consensus opinions are the bastion of junk science. I don't need to convince -you- of something for it to be a fact. Man-made global warming is the biggest lie of our time, whether you agree or not.

  • So, you didn't look at the videos and if you did, you for some reason (without of course in any way referring to the wiki articles on the matter) still disagreed, despite the obvious fact that the person doing them has no agenda in either direction.

If the above is true, give me one reason why not to resort to name calling, if you are not interested in facts in the first place ?

  • There isn't enough room in a Youtube reply to get into a scientific debate. (nor do I have the time) I watched the videos you referred to. They were not without bias.

  • you didn't answer the question.

  • A simple question:

Do you honestly think that the 6 000 000 000 people, the Industrial Revolution, the thousands of airplanes and the billions of cars working everyday, the meat industry and all the embodied energy of all buildings of the world don't, even remotely, have anything to do with climate ?

If you honestly believe that, my also honest opinion is that you must be treated in a hospital. By a hospital I mean a proper educational institution.

  • calm down!!! u cant even sweep

  • Oh, by the way, give evidence for your "more and more scientists" claim, because that's what all the denialists say.

And before you give me a list of names, I need respectable free-thinking scientists, not crackpots like the core of the AIDS revisionists, who, apparently, all died of AIDS (coincidence ?)

  • pollution does kill, lung disease is on the rise in cities like LA that have problems with smog.

regardless of your opinion on global warming, you still have to breath clean air, eat clean food, and drink clean water.

  • Part of the problem, though, is that many politicians refuse to even acknowldege the fact that CO2 is a pollutant.

  • That's because CO2 is not a pollutant but food for plants. And this video is barking up the wrong tree.

  • The definition of the word "pollutant" is not "poisenous to every living organism". If the definition for pollutant was anywhere near that, absolutely nothing could be called a pollutant. Fecal matter is food for plants as well. It can be extremely harmful at the same time.

  • Humans and CO2 do not cause global warming. There are other causes and they are becoming more and more understood. In fact satelite and weather balloon data these past several years of cooler weather shows the earth is not warming at this time this video is barking up the wrong tree.

Climate changes, always has, always will best learn to adapt to local changes.

  • eezyone: "Humans and CO2 do not cause global warming."

You do not know that for certain; or if you do, I'd love to know where you found your information. Any substance in amounts which have an adverse effect on the survivability of organisms is considered to be a pollutant. Given that many correlations between CO2 and adverse effects have been made (in addition to the fact that CO2 is a greenhouse gas), the refusal to acknowledge such effects is irresponsible and willfully ignorant.

  • There are man y good sources of research CO2 Science, ICECAP, etc. The Co2 is only 0.03% of the atmosphere and humans cause 5% of that.

2; The earth has been cooling for the past 10yrs. Why? the sun is in a quiet phase. The earth is covered by 70% ocean how much effect can we have? Even the father of CO2 research, Revelle, said he didn't believe it had anything to do with it and was sorry for leading people down the wrong path before he died. how much have you examined the other arguments?

  • I assume that, from your presentation of Revelle's position and your other comments, you would prefer a political opinion of total unconcern be established. This only furthers my point about irresponsibility. Revelle did not intend to undermine all concerns regarding CO2 in his later articles. In fact, he intended to warn against the over-emphazising or misrepresentation of what we have learned, in addition to expanding on other environmental concerns along similar lines.

  • Have you read the articles of which you speak? If not, you should do so. If so, you should not intentionally misrepresent his position as you are. Revelle acknowledged and reiterated the importance of studies concerning CO2, which this video represents a small portion of. The attempts by political parties on both ends is frustrating in science, especially when people make claims they can not back up.

  • Why don't you check out, isthere globalcooling, and wattsupwiththat.

Checkout what John Coleman[[founder of the weather channell] has to say about Revelle If you believe the planet is warming due to CO2 you're out of touch with reality Checkout the GISS, UAH, RSS reports on the cooliing of the planet for the past 8 to 10 years.

  • Where did I say any of what you imply? My points were refuting your assertions that there is no correlation whatsoever. Your attempts at exageration of my statements only dig a deeper hole for your argument against this video and my previous comments.

  • The scientific research shows no correlation of CO2 driving climate change. CO2 is not a pollutant. More of it would just help the plants to grow better

  • Co2 does not have to "drive climate change" to be a pollutant. All it needs to do (from the climate change standpoint) is imbalance natural cycles, commonly referred to as a trigger effect. Climate change aside, other adverse effects should be taken into consideration as well. All ecological effects changing environmental characteristics are under consideration. Anything impacting ecological niches which may adversely affect current cycles may be adverse. Acidification is one other large...

  • consideration. And yet, it is not the only one. The carbon cycle of the Earth has vast and varried effects on environments, many of which have been associated with domino effects. These are the concerns which I bear in mind. At the base of the problem, the question should be this: Is it more prudent to not take viable action that is not proven detrimental to our economy for the sake of uncertainty when global environment is concerned, or is it more prudent to take such action when we can...

  • before it becomes a larger problem and even more costly to affect?

  • My appologies for the poor grammar in my comments.

  • They have a lot invested in denying it.

  • That, in turn, is going to affect many of the other plants and animals that depend on those trees. It's interesting how interconnected everything is and scary how a global warming of just a few degrees can trigger a cascade of traumatic events.

This kind of thing also helps explain how seemingly local events like comet impacts or massive volcanism can cause global mass extinctions years--and even centuries--after the triggering event.
