You see most of the people that say that ike is a low tier character just dont know how to use him and are always getting completely destroyed by him... i use ike and i dont consider myself to be the ultimate ike player but i will say that i am extremely good with him... probably wont beat any of these guys but might take down a life or two.

@Cunit1874 Somebody obviously has the reflexes of a retarded turtle. Ike's moves are very pronounced and have generally terrible cooldown. Almost all his moves are pretty punishable. I main Ike, and he is very easily destroyed unless you know where and when to use what move.

Tiers mean plenty. I know people pick characters just because they're HIGH-TIERRRR and that's stupid, but there really is quite a difference between low-tier and high-tier. If two guys play their main characters and split the matches 50-50, but then one switches to Diddy Kong while the other guy plays Yoshi, we can guess where this is going. And remember, Yoshi isn't his specialty, so the "skill is all that matters" argument doesn't make as much sense.

@Snacks256 I try not to think of it as a tiers perspective but look at it individually with each match up. Like even though Snake is 2nd tier and Link's 3rd worst, Link still has a good 50:50 or 55:45 with Snake. Sure all the match ups add up that make tiers what they are, but I main and sub main just about all low tier characters and do pretty darn good against banana wheel Diddies, neutral B MKs, SHDL CG Falcos and neutral/forward air Marths. It's the darn ROBs that get me LOL.

@CompletelyKnife I can't say I blame him. ROB is very very broken. The only character that can truly outcamp him is SHDL Falcos. Maybe Wolf and Fox would have a decent job but.. they'd still eat a few hits. ROB is so campy and forces you to approach him, which also opens up a ton of options for him... his recovery is way too good, has amazing aerials that don't leave him open, a perfect down smash, great up tilt, can spike, amazing at gimping... he's just too annoying. And he's stupid! lol
