Thanks! I usually work on several songs at the same time. If I'm having trouble finishing one, I move on to a next one. Gradually they get done. This particular song is one of my oldest here. It has been laying around for a couple of years. Most of my songs here are composed in much lesser time - in one or two days or within a week.
I'm trying my hand at MIDI also, but it's not going so well. Takes me more than a week to finish one, and they aren't exactly good. Do you have any tips?
Some songs take more time to finish than others. It depends on the tempo, style, complexity and length of the song. Slower, shorter and simpler ones are probably easier to make - there is less handwork involved. Some things can't be rushed. Getting ideas can be difficult at times. Sometimes it's good to put the song aside for a while and work on another one or do something completely different. This gives you perspective. After taking a break you can listen to your music more objectively.
