I have seen 1 stock ls1 do 12's also with drag tires, In my book its a 13 second car.

@cobra5405 thats's what I'd expect from this race from an 01-02 ls1 with long tubes. They get 20-25 rwhp from long tube headers most of the time. I've had an lt1 and seen an ls1 with long tubes installed gain 23 with the lt1 and 26 with the ls1 just from long tubes and the ory alone. That on top of the deficit the mach 1 already has with dynoing 270-280 stock vs the 01-02 f-cars 310-325 typical m6 dyno.
@mrg3tsum The mods are in the video description. Mach 1 has exhaust (straight pipes), Camaro has Long tubes (I'd assume an aftermarket after-cat and Y pipe to go with it, since most people won't do headers and not the after-cat) and gears.

@BLACKLACDTS there are a couplke factory freaks that with radials they ran a 13.5 but i think that was with crazy conditions. the ls1's are good for 12's pretty much stock. but with an average driver a stock ls1 and a stock mach 1 is a good match up. a stock ls1 v a 98 cobra with gears and bolt ons is a good match. i hit high 12's in my cobra with gear swap and a couple other minor things. I have owned both cars and im not a "fanboy"

@Chadb89 well my friend i would have to see that to believe it. 200lbs and a set of slicks and 4.10s wouldnt drop a full second off a car imo. it would have to be a little more weight, and maybe a 4.30 or 4.56 gear and also perfect conditions. the reason the slicks and gears wouldnt drop that much is because a stock 2v dont have bad traction issues at the track in the first place. i could see a stock 2v with 4.30s and sum weight reduction runnin 13.20s
@BLACKLACDTS The guys post name is Cuttincircles or you can type in Stock 4.6 mustang drag its the third one down, my memory was off a bit it IS 4.30 gears your right and he got the car down to 3k lbs but factory the coupes only weigh about 3,300 or so depending on the options so about 2 or 300 lbs and its in the 12s easily not 12.9999 but a 12.47 and he just launches the shit out of it and the gears carry him the rest of the way, its a 1996 model so stock its around 280 ft lbs

@Chadb89 well bud i checked it out. lol that car is far from a stock stang. its a 96 car with a 02 pi motor,headers and full off road exhaust,shortbelted, bolt ons, big slicks and 4.30 gears with a drag suspension. i know a few guys that have took 99-04 gt cars in to the 12s with bolt ons and even 11s with heads,cams and intake. a 96 gt is the worse mustang to build unless you do a pi conversion or just swap he motor like that guy did.

Sweet Mach 1! My dad has a 2004 screaming yellow Mach 1 and I love it! It's his fifth mustang haha. He had a '98 V6, '02 GT, '01 Saleen S281SC, and even a '98 Saleen S351R. I love stangs! Nice Camaro also. My Friend has an '01 Z28 and it's pretty sick too.

9/10 mach 1 vs ls1 is a tie 1/10 the ls1 will win, i love the mustang..looks fantastic. side note though: remember that the mach 1 has a 4.6L and the ls1 has 5.7L and whats the difference in hp like 20? better hp/size ratio on the mustang

@cobra5405 thats's what I'd expect from this race from an 01-02 ls1 with long tubes. They get 20-25 rwhp from long tube headers most of the time. I've had an lt1 and seen an ls1 with long tubes installed gain 23 with the lt1 and 26 with the ls1 just from long tubes and the ory alone. That on top of the deficit the mach 1 already has with dynoing 270-280 stock vs the 01-02 f-cars 310-325 typical m6 dyno.

@mrg3tsum The mods are in the video description. Mach 1 has exhaust (straight pipes), Camaro has Long tubes (I'd assume an aftermarket after-cat and Y pipe to go with it, since most people won't do headers and not the after-cat) and gears.

@BLACKLACDTS there are a couplke factory freaks that with radials they ran a 13.5 but i think that was with crazy conditions. the ls1's are good for 12's pretty much stock. but with an average driver a stock ls1 and a stock mach 1 is a good match up. a stock ls1 v a 98 cobra with gears and bolt ons is a good match. i hit high 12's in my cobra with gear swap and a couple other minor things. I have owned both cars and im not a "fanboy"

@BLACKLACDTS theres actually a guy on here forgot his screen name that took a bone stock 4.6L SOHC GT down to the air filter, took out 200lbs put in some 4.10 gears and sticky tires and runs 12s with the car all day long... and the cobra has the higher revving more powerful DOHC engine

@Chadb89 well my friend i would have to see that to believe it. 200lbs and a set of slicks and 4.10s wouldnt drop a full second off a car imo. it would have to be a little more weight, and maybe a 4.30 or 4.56 gear and also perfect conditions. the reason the slicks and gears wouldnt drop that much is because a stock 2v dont have bad traction issues at the track in the first place. i could see a stock 2v with 4.30s and sum weight reduction runnin 13.20s

@BLACKLACDTS The guys post name is Cuttincircles or you can type in Stock 4.6 mustang drag its the third one down, my memory was off a bit it IS 4.30 gears your right and he got the car down to 3k lbs but factory the coupes only weigh about 3,300 or so depending on the options so about 2 or 300 lbs and its in the 12s easily not 12.9999 but a 12.47 and he just launches the shit out of it and the gears carry him the rest of the way, its a 1996 model so stock its around 280 ft lbs

@Chadb89 well bud i checked it out. lol that car is far from a stock stang. its a 96 car with a 02 pi motor,headers and full off road exhaust,shortbelted, bolt ons, big slicks and 4.30 gears with a drag suspension. i know a few guys that have took 99-04 gt cars in to the 12s with bolt ons and even 11s with heads,cams and intake. a 96 gt is the worse mustang to build unless you do a pi conversion or just swap he motor like that guy did.

badass video! thankyou for showing that both cars are badass, i am more of a ford fan only because i bought a 6.0 05 gto had 28k miles clutch went out less than an hour after owning it from missing 3rd 1 time...ive missed 3rd atleast 10 times learning how to drive my 08 gt and shes still fine.. moral of the story is dont hate on cars unless you have owned both, i would love an 99-02 ws6 or ss but would never own another goat in my life. did research im not only one that had this issue...
