Of course he gave them the credit. I've watched a performance of his where he starts with the words: "Thank you Peter, Bjorn & John, for writing such a lovely song".

You might wanna' check how many are the covers of the Leonard Cohen's - Hallelujah - over 120, and he doesn't mind that, he's just glad that other artists (like himself), want to share his work to the world. It's not all about the money or the glory, man, it's about contribution to the world :)

The whole point of my comment is that in music and movies very few so called "artists" have an original idea anymore. And the ones who get the credit for a song are the ones who have the biggest wallet not the ones who wrote it. Everyone just takes and copies everyone else just to make a buck. No artistic integrity. And btw Leonard Cohen is finally asking artists to stop covering his song Hallelujah. Check your facts!
