  • Could the Bishop being referred to here be the same as the Bishop and the Warlord? dun-dun-duh!

  • I love the way Stephen says "Pot". Also Hugh looks like my mother in this. MEOW!

  • what is this I don't even...

  • How Hugh kept his eyes open for so long!

  • The Devil possessed Hugh's eyeballs in this sketch.

  • Hugh looks delightfully deranged.

  • MEOW!

  • Actually I think Hugh is channelling Thulsa Doom here.

  • I love Hugh's voice at 0:47

  • LOLOL!!!! Hughe's face is the best!!! ROTFLOL!!!! XDDDDDD

  • The charge make known the charge!!!

  • It's amazing watching two men channel Monty Python

  • There should be atleast one day a year when people talk like this!

  • hiw did they make him tiny

  • Now I want Hugh to say, "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" He sounds the part perfectly.

  • @SerraFlame Or "Ni!"

  • Bugger.

  • Hugh looked like Shawn Michaels (WWE star, nick HBK), or is it just me?

  • I couldn't even hear the opening lines, the audience was laughing so loud.

  • The opening THE OPENING!! XD

  • hahahaha, fuck, everytime Stephen says "pot" i wet myself!

this has to be one of their best and most hilarious sketches! These two are honestly just too much

  • the which is there provided for the opening. (subtle pun maybe?)

  • At the very end, Hugh looks at the milk on Stephen's robe almost ... hungrily. o.o

  • the depth of their comedy

    is deeper

    than the oceans of saturn

  • Stephen's stare all along the area of 0:50 or so is sorta sexy xD

  • Shocking how the paradigm between the two changes when one seems a lot shorter than the other, even though they're about the same height in real life. Hugh is brilliant in this, he seems funnier for being short (not that he was ever short on funnies, even when normal sized, if you will).

  • MEOW

  • Awesome sketch, Hugh looks like Marty Fedlman in Young Frankenstein! Love it!

  • Hugh is awesome!!

  • Stephen is the ventriloquist and hugh is the puppet!

  • Hugh Laurie looks completely demented. It's wonderful.

  • we do make most erotic demand

  • Hugh in this sketch reminds me a great deal of Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein.

  • @doctorx777 Ha ha i thought that too.

  • LOL hugh laurie's eyes are hypnotic.

  • meoow

  • do these characters ever return in the show? this is hilarious

  • I am so disturbed <33

  • i love how fry says pot

  • Hugh should tour with Iggy.

  • MEOW

  • HUGH LAURIE LOOKS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is GREAT!!! So many details to focus on!

  • can't breathe!

  • bugger

  • Epic face, Hugh Laurie. Epic face.

  • The random animal noises are so hysterical!

  • I've watched this sketch like six times now and it's still freakin' hysterical. I get such a kick out of people making fun of the simplest things.

  • woo.

  • Hugh looks awesome here. Perfect face for that type of character.

  • Nay! Moo!

  • I've been learning English for quite a few years, but I have no idea what these two are talking about. Can someone tell me, please? However, it is incredibly funny even if I don't understand what they are saying.

  • They are speaking in an old relgious way so it's not hard to see why you would have a problem knowing what the hell they are talking about ;p They are going on about how those little milk things are so hard to open so they are calling it evil. I love laurie's eyes in this clip, fry's eyes look crazy at one part too ;p

  • Per calendar hour. Oh yes. Wonderful.

  • Holy crap, Hugh looks scary here.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Try the second Bishop and the Warlord video, it's the same wig...

  • Hugh makes me think of the knights who say 'ni'. Anyone else thinks that too?

  • yes

  • @rushbaby91 bit weird, but remarkably brilliant

  • i just watched that movie for the first time so it was on my mind. my have i been deprived

  • Haha,Hugh looks rather creepy ;P

  • i love this sketch!! :D

not to mention hugh's gorgeous eyes...hehe

  • they look really creepy! Creepiest monks I've ever seen, and you know how movies are with monks nowadays.

    bugger

  • I keep forgetting how many gems are in series 3.

  • Maybe even the best season of ABOFAL.

I never thought I would say this, but Hugh Laurie always scares the hell out of me in this scene. Still brilliantly funny.

  • These two remind me of Prior Robert and Brother Jerome from the Cadfael books/movies.

  • bugger...

  • People who've followed Laurie and Fry since they first appeared on Cambridge Revue tend to give Fry most of the credit because of his dominant roles and lion's share of the dialogue.. but this video is an amazing example of why Laurie is the better half!

  • You've got this completely wrong. The whole point of a double act is that they feed off each other, so neither is "better", for they couldn't produce the same brilliance without each other.

  • of course not. but you can still have personal favourites :)

  • hugh laurie reminded me of egor on Young Frankenstein and He Sounds like michael palin and I love stephen frys eyes at 0:51

  • so be it, be it so, and not otherwise!!!

  • @artvandelay13 Nay! Moo!

  • I watched his eyes too! there are only 5 times when he closed his eyes... thats incredible!

My eyes were watering trying to keep them open, just in case i missed him blink... he's incredible! They both are!

  • I watched him very carefully... and as far as I can tell, Hugh Laurie only closes his eyes once or twice in this! This is especially amazing considering his eyes are whirling around as though the drive belt's come loose...

  • I dont know the reason why he doesn't blink, probably to keep the stunned look, but he is moving his eyes a lot because it helps moisturizing them beneath the open eyelids... I'm an Ophthalmologist :D

  • wow. crazy eyes...

  • Michael Palin is one of the six Pythons =) Along with Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Graham Chapman, John Cleese and Eric Idle =)

  • "Thirteen guineas per calendar hour."

    "Cheap!"

    "Woof."

Also, anyone else think Hugh sounds like the 'knight who says NEE!' in Monty Python and the Holy Grail?

  • i wouldn't have said the knights who say ni but rather that he sounds like michael palin in this sketch when he does similar characters.. i wonder if hugh was aware of that, when they did this^^

  • yes, It made me think of schrubbery's to

  • I love that way that Hugh blinks about 5 times throughout the whole thing, and not once until 1:47.

  • There's a meme among male actors of attempting to blink as little as possible on film. It was supposed manly in Hollywood.

I don't know if Fry's lack of blinking here is intentional or following this stream of thinking, but that's my two cents :)

  • i think you mean hugh laurie; stephen fry is actually blinking a lot.. actually, at the beginning he blinks so often that you would think he compensates for hugh^^

  • I love the way Stephen says "Behold" at the opening of the scene

  • Meow!

  • I keep trying to focus on what they're saying (I get the general idea, but still x) but my eyes keep straying to either Hugh's eyes, or i keep focusing on that oddly deep voice of Stephen xD haha

I've watched it a few times now, and it keeps being hilarious x)

  • My favourite sketch of all time.

    Cheap! Woof!

  • what does he say at 1:32 it sounds like jack martens or something? what does he say?

  • " A most wicked and contumely pot or chalice wherein Satan doth play Jackalawkins"

Looked it up because I was curious as well ;)

  • Jackalawkins? wow thanks! I suppose that doesn't mean anything though!

  • Googled that as well! All I found was gibberish...haha

  • is it posible to find lyrics(text) of this and others ABOFAL movies?

i think i did it someday but now i can't find anything. If you can give me a link i'll be grateful

  • I'm surprized this hasnt had more views. Its brilliant.

  • I love this sketch :D One of their best without a doubt.

Hugh Laurie looks really freaky and hilarious, it's hard to not pay attention to him the first time you watch it, don't you agree? x)

  • I know right. He like, doesn't blink.

  • @solidus4prez OMG HOW DOES HE NEVER BLINK????
