Le seul problème que j'ai avec cette version, c'est qu'ils n'ont pas compris le sens des paroles. La façon dont la version jap est chantée résonnent joyeux et heureux, mais les parole sont glauque et triste, ça parle de pikmin qui se sacrifie pour olimare, qui ferai tout pour eux sans hésité, mais qu'ils s'en fiche si olimare ne les aiment pas en retour.

Upon listening to the original, even if I only had a vague idea of the Pikmin game (tiny characters working together under your command, in an insect environment), it carried so much emotions, the sadness was so vibrant, you could hear their sad "but still a bit happy, with a smile" loyal resignation to fate (japanese mentality...), you could feel it from the melody, the voice and the lyrics. The french version only have the melody... lyrics and voice are both completely missing the point :/

as a french, I found it surprising (in a good way) they made that version

however, her voice doesn't fully make it - I feel like she's singing higher than her "beautiful singing" range (a bit of whispering imo) to keep up with the original version and it ends up sounding odd

now add the fact the melody doesn't fit with the lyrics as perfectly as the japanese version (+ the french is singing faster than normal to follow the rythm), and you have a good cover, but not as good as the original

Um, I know French. I've been in France for a total of about a year and I know what the lyrics of this song are and mean.

The reason I find this funny is because French people tend to dub things unnecessary and that makes them look silly. I've seen loads of TV shows and films there that sound plain weird. I'm all for keeping things original and always watch films with subtitles, no matter if it's in Japanese, French or German. Try to think a bit before judging someone. Cheers.
