Lincoln MKT is the ugliest thing to come along since the Aztec! it looks like an upside down bathtub. Also, in the features category, The Cadillac has ONStar which is a huge advantage in safety and security.

This is like comparing a Suburban to a Ford Escape....different size vehicles. As someone else stated the MKX is the competitor with the SRX. It's funny that you key up on the Microsoft Sync in the MKT but fail to mention that the SRX has a 40gb hard drive built into the vehicle so you don't even need a portable audio device.
The MKT is very bold and unique. You have to see it in person. It's very handsome and well refined, inside and out. I just think it's hard for people to accept a different styling direction from Ford after following Germany and Japan for so many years. The SRX just looks like a Lexus knock off. Its nice but not really interesting. Saw both at the International Auto show this wknd and the MKT was the most popular crossover there.
I like them both, and honestly, turn radius would be the ice breaker for me.... Seeing how the srx is Opel based, you would think it's far more agile than the Lincoln... The MKT looks more like a wagon than an actual crossover...it hardly has any ground clearance. Plus, the tail-lamps are just not good looking if you ever see the vehicle in any other color other than red. They're way too big.
I hope the 2010 SRX is more improved , in gas milage, than the 2006 which I have. My 06 has never passed a gas station it didn't like, I insult my E320 and Lincoln Towne, by keeping them in the same garage with the SRX

BTW MTX is an Audio company. The MKX is made by lincoln and yes it is ugly but the ride isn't that bad. Never heard anything bad about the ride but it is ugly. The cars look good but the crossovers are very creepy looking, Lincoln needs to stick to all cars. Leave crossovers to Caddy.

@Greendude33 Yeah the quality has gone way up but many people are still not convinced. I have people in my family that say that they wouldn't get an American car even if it was given to them for free. Its because we have a Chrysler Pacifica, our first American car purchase and actually our first non-Japanese purchase and this thing has been a load of problems. Transmissions already had to be replaced, indicators barely ever work. Our Accord is older and still runs like the day we bought it.

I don't think this is a fair comparison at all. The SRX is a small SUV, I would compare it to an Equinox or a GLK. The Lincoln is more of a low down wagon I think, I would compare it more with a Flex, or an R-Class.
The only reason the Cadillac is named a 'Crossover' is because Cadillac couldn't call it an SUV. Just the category itself would put people off of buying one.

I've never hated a automobile as bad since the Aztek, the MKT takes it to the next level. It looks like a fat lard whale with the typical hideous "Lincoln" rear end. Lincoln should have kept the Aviator around and dumped the Mountaineer. It was a better 7-seat midsize Lincoln than either the MKX or MKT. And was built how a Lincoln should be, body on frame with all independent suspension and a decent V8.
I agree that the Aviator was a nice vehicle, but body-on-frame just doesn't cut it anymore for a luxury vehicle. They have good longevity at the cost of increased road noise and fuel economy. A modern luxury SUV should be a crossover; think about it - if the Aviator had suited the market's needs, Lincoln would not have abandoned it. Ford has sold the most SUVs out of any company, and has noticed a big enough decline in sales of the body-on-frame style that they are now readjusting.

I thought the SRX was sluggish and VERY heavy. The rear seats are a joke especially when they say they are targeting empty nesters with it. No adults in the back seat longer than 20 minutes.
Never been too impressed with Lincoln's designs. Don't like the unibrow tail light of this MKT. The SRX is a stark improvement over it's predecessor. Red, imo, never seems to do justice on vehicles. Try seeing the SRX in white or titanium.....striking!!
Sorry, but the MKT looks like a bathtub on wheels. The Caddy isn't perfect either but between the two the Cadillac has a much more youthful and athletic appearance. Like it or not Cadillac is the only American car company that has been able to compete successfully against BMW etc.
Lincoln is not going for the athletic look. It's all about luxury at a semi-affordable price. The guy said it, the Lincoln is more comfortable and has more features.

i was kind of disappointed with the looks of the tail lights of the mkt, but after staring at it for an hour and squinting its looks are pretty nice. however, it is an amazing, car with an available 3.5 ltr 355 hp eco boost engine and park assist ( it parks it self) a fridge box, duel headrest entertainment system, and heated AND cooled seats in 1st and 2nd row ( yes 2nd row has cooled seats, thats a first) im grabbing it at the first sign it came out
I live in Oakville where these are produced and for the first time today saw 3 of them going out for tests, and just like the ford flex i hated the styling at first but then again looked at it for a while and it grew on me, and i like it.

The MKT looks more like a wagon than an actual crossover...it hardly has any ground clearance. Plus, the tail-lamps are just not good looking if you ever see the vehicle in any other color other than red. They're way too big.

BTW MTX is an Audio company. The MKX is made by lincoln and yes it is ugly but the ride isn't that bad. Never heard anything bad about the ride but it is ugly. The cars look good but the crossovers are very creepy looking, Lincoln needs to stick to all cars. Leave crossovers to Caddy.

I have people in my family that say that they wouldn't get an American car even if it was given to them for free. Its because we have a Chrysler Pacifica, our first American car purchase and actually our first non-Japanese purchase and this thing has been a load of problems. Transmissions already had to be replaced, indicators barely ever work. Our Accord is older and still runs like the day we bought it.

I don't think this is a fair comparison at all. The SRX is a small SUV, I would compare it to an Equinox or a GLK. The Lincoln is more of a low down wagon I think, I would compare it more with a Flex, or an R-Class.
The only reason the Cadillac is named a 'Crossover' is because Cadillac couldn't call it an SUV. Just the category itself would put people off of buying one.

I've never hated a automobile as bad since the Aztek, the MKT takes it to the next level. It looks like a fat lard whale with the typical hideous "Lincoln" rear end. Lincoln should have kept the Aviator around and dumped the Mountaineer. It was a better 7-seat midsize Lincoln than either the MKX or MKT. And was built how a Lincoln should be, body on frame with all independent suspension and a decent V8.

I agree that the Aviator was a nice vehicle, but body-on-frame just doesn't cut it anymore for a luxury vehicle. They have good longevity at the cost of increased road noise and fuel economy. A modern luxury SUV should be a crossover; think about it - if the Aviator had suited the market's needs, Lincoln would not have abandoned it. Ford has sold the most SUVs out of any company, and has noticed a big enough decline in sales of the body-on-frame style that they are now readjusting.

I thought the SRX was sluggish and VERY heavy. The rear seats are a joke especially when they say they are targeting empty nesters with it. No adults in the back seat longer than 20 minutes.

Sorry, but the MKT looks like a bathtub on wheels. The Caddy isn't perfect either but between the two the Cadillac has a much more youthful and athletic appearance. Like it or not Cadillac is the only American car company that has been able to compete successfully against BMW etc.

i was kind of disappointed with the looks of the tail lights of the mkt, but after staring at it for an hour and squinting its looks are pretty nice. however, it is an amazing, car with an available 3.5 ltr 355 hp eco boost engine and park assist ( it parks it self) a fridge box, duel headrest entertainment system, and heated AND cooled seats in 1st and 2nd row ( yes 2nd row has cooled seats, thats a first) im grabbing it at the first sign it came out
