  • put some model people on board, on decks or looking out windows and see if they would live or be blown to SMITHEREENS!

  • That was cool. You should have compartments to slow or prevent sinking. Try filling the void spaces with a bouyant material like closed cell foam or cut styrofoam.

  • @1anthonybrowning But sinking is the whole point! What's the fun if you make it impossible to sink?

  • YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP!!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is the name of this song?

  • i love doing these ,im working on making walls in between compartments so that if i get hit once i wont go down and on armoring my hull with internal rubber apoxy(you should try this) and the hole just fillsin or the bb never makes it through and the apoxy catches it,and i love the vids keepem comin

  • @jordan32277 What's the fun if you sail an illegal and unfairly overpowered boat? Methinks you would find yourself banned very quickly if you tried it...

  • @kotori87 The song is called "the knights go marching home again", by ailsean. I believe you can find it on the OverClocked Remix website.

  • what sive BB's do you use?

  • wow the old years were good now its just about paying off the bills

  • 2:22 LOL he said Sieg Heil !!!!!

  • I've been developing a rubberband powered torpedo, and in controlled circumstances it has about a 75% success rate. Haven't tried it in actual battle.

  • @Harakudoshi904 Cool! I can't wait to see how it works in action.

  • LOL ! Great fun.

  • that shit is bad ass guys keep it up

  • Happy game.

  • May i suggest you use infrared lasers and infrared sensors to make combat assessemnt? that way tactical positioning will have the effect desired and be a valid influential variable on the combat outcome.

  • @jeetendrag10acc2 The challenge with any light-based combat on water is reflections. Waves and water do all sorts of weird things to light, making it remarkably difficult to get a reliable signals. That's why we use CO2-powered ball bearing cannons; water has much less effect on them.

  • Why the song from Chrono Trigger? lol

  • how do the guns move and operate? If i wanted to try this hobby how will i get started?

  • @BombFrenzy I would highly recommend you visit the RC Naval Combat website. There you will find information about how the cannons work, how to join, etc.

  • @kotori87 Can you please check your mail on rc naval combat? I sent you a message.

  • that was cool fun video

  • This is really cool

  • hahahahahah wwwwwow

  • 2:23 ,,Siegheil joe" xD

  • How do you get them after they sink? just leave them there?

  • @jakesfilms1 Of course not. A sunken ship is an excuse to cool off during the hot summer months. Once recovered, we repair the hull and salvage the electronics, so most ships are ready to fight again within 30 minutes to an hour after retrieval. Some ships sink several times a day!

  • @kotori87 Aww many thats really cool (: What if you guys battle in like the most murky mucky stuff, youll still jump in? and awesome vid by the way.

  • @jakesfilms1 Sunken ships are noisy things. If the water's too murky, use your ears :)

  • @kotori87 Thats so awesome :D

  • Knowing me, I'd be sitting there with my uncle's buckshot cannon screaming AIR RAID!

  • @noonedude101 I don't know where to start listing the number of problems with that idea. Don't try it, you won't like the result. Vengeful engineers can do far more terrifying things than mere bodily injury.

  • @kotori87

    It was a joke...

  • @noonedude101 Well that is how the hobby originally started over 25 years ago, but it wouldn't have lasted long if we didn't evolve quickly. With modern gun restrictions, lawyers, and California politicians, all it takes is one moron to shut this hobby down permanently.

  • How much ammo do they carry?

  • @noonedude101 Depends on the ship and the builder. Some people only want just enough ammunition and CO2 to last through a sortie, generally a few hundred rounds and a 9-oz bottle. Others, like me, want as much ammo and CO2 as they can carry, in my case more than a thousand rounds and a 20-oz CO2 bottle. That extra endurance is a lifesaver in the annual Campaign Game and Last Man Standing battle.

  • @kotori87

I'm assuming submarines are not allowed, lol

  • 60 people here were nazis who failed to make a shrinking machine :D

  • it's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Makes me feel like making a pirate ship ARGGGGG

  • song? plz respond i need it badly!!!!!

  • @emochiken99 The music is "The Knights come marching home again", by composer "Ailsean". Try searching on the OC Remix website.

  • @kotori87 Man, a squad of B-17s loaded with BBs would take out two ships at least, if not three and damage four. The WWII air power is my favorite part of that history period.

  • @Fireheart528 There is one rule for aircraft. They must be 1:144 scale. If you can build a WWII carrier-based torpedo-bomber or dive-bomber in 1:144 scale you're welcome to join us.

  • @kotori87 it looks like the ships are just sinking themselves suddenly, regardless of the fire between them

make them explode and burn and sink, dont be a little girl about it

  • @emochiken99 the original song is "when Johnny comes marching home", watch?v=T3k8H_9SjoM

  • Heh, the RC Battleships are really cool as hell.

There will always be trolls. But hey listen the RC racing is 1/24th scale. And my car with mods (not many) will make a little better than 40mph, scale speed? Around 415 mph or so, not realistic at all. But who cares, only trolls apparently!

  • Man that looks like such cool fun... not like the flyboys who have a shit-fit when they scratch the paintwork of their precious models....

  • i'd imagine these men could be future commanders~ if they aren't currently.

Right on man~! LOVE THE MUSIC!

  • I wonder if rockets are allowed or air support lolololol if so I would make some smart rockets

  • @deathcorepyro That's a big no on the rockets. Pyrotechnics are prohibited for safety reasons.

As for air support, if you can build a 1:144 scale WWII torpedo-plane or dive bomber, you're welcome to do so. Just remember, no pyrotechnics or explosives.

  • @deathcorepyro lol build some little attack chopers

  • this is worse than getting ricked rolled, i thought i was going to see some 16 inch cannons

  • I think somebody says at 2:23 "SIEG HEIL JOE"

  • @Orkilein Joe is the captain of a French destroyer that sank at the end. The French can go either way to balance the teams, so this time he was Axis. He got sunk, and someone called out a salute for the brave warrior, but mistook the Frenchie for a German. Joe normally drives a big Iowa-class BB.

  • So what. After ur ship sinks u have to buy another one? Seems fun but expenseve

  • @dodgedurango12345678 No, our ships are designed to be easy to retrieve and repair after a sink. Leaving one there is both expensive and bad for the environment.

  • OMG bb guns hah! More fun than grown men should really be having lol.

  • OMG bb guns hah!

  • this is fun

i reckon different rc groups should get together for a fun fight

boats, subs, planes , helis (that would be me), even cars (e.g. tanks maybe)

that would be an awesome day

  • It's just not very realistic that's all. These models look to be about 1/300 scale. That means that they should be fighting over distances of 80 to 100 meters, not ramming each other and shooting it out with all guns depressed below the horizontal. Granted they are easier to hit up close but this is little more than a smash up derby.

  • @shecanatakeitcaptain Actually, they're all in 1:144 scale, so correct scale range would be greater than the size of our pond. They should also be firing explosive, armor-piercing shells at a high angle to plunge down on each other's decks, with sophisticated onboard sensors for aiming the guns. But that's not possible, for both safety and practical reasons. So... yeah, it's not scale. We know.

  • where do you gys get these naval ships and how much do they cost. where are most of these battles held at cause i might want to go to one of them, they seem neat. and wont the battery get srewed up since water is in the hull of the ship .

  • @metrostation136 I'll take your questions one at a time.

    1) kits are available from Strike Models (google search)

    2) There are clubs around the world. Check out the RC Naval Combat website to find your local club.

    3) The electronics and other systems are usually waterproofed. If not, simply flushing the electronics with rubbing alcohol will restore them to life.

  • looks like fun..

  • I really want to build one but i can't get any parts where i live. Even if i found a shop, there is nobody to battle with me.

  • Are the turrets fixed or controllable by gyro trim switch in Controllers?

  • @RCFlyer132 Depends on the builder. Some ships are built with rotating cannons, others are not. It's also common to have rotating front guns and fixed rear. Not many people use a dial for controlling rotation, although I do. Most prefer to use the aileron/elevator stick, with left/right being rotation and forward/back being fire front/rear.

  • The gun fires plumage-piercing shells able to sink a duck one yard away, doesn't it?

  • @Bidooshram No. These aren't duck-hunters, they're ship-killers. The ducks and other birds learned a long time ago to head for the far side of the pond when "commence fire" is called.

  • the fishes must be scared

  • @papaonn Fishes will be like " WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON UP THERE!!! WE CAN'T SLEEP!!"

  • @RCFlyer132 exactly lol

  • @RCFlyer132 i'm waiting for some monster catfish to come up and own one of the smaller ships haha

  • @boredguy52 I don't think a catfish will be much threat to a battleship. Maybe that's what got the destroyer at the end, there...

  • @RCFlyer132 I bet one of 'em said "Why do those dumb humans try disturbin' us like this?!?"

  • ander stelle 2:22 sagt er sieg heil so ein nazi

  • Thumbs down for not putting RC in title.

  • well then how many feet per second do the bbs go?

  • @nolifewithoutrc10 lessee... around 210 to 220fps for the .177" bbs, and 160fps for the 1/4" ball bearings.

  • could an eletcric airsoft gun pierce 8th inch balsa?

  • @nolifewithoutrc10 I don't know. I know that 6mm airsoft pellets can pierce 1/8" balsa when fired from a torpedo cannon, but they lose energy very quickly and cannot penetrate from a distance, or through water. I have no idea if electric airsoft guns are powerful enough, though.

  • have you ever lost a ship and could not find it?

  • @jackknife001 In over 20 years of hundreds of people battling around the world, only 3 combat ships have been permanently lost.

  • AWESOME, looks like a LOT of fun. oh man, don't get me tempted into another hobby. Thanks for sharing.

  • @luft11 I just checked my horoscope. The position of Jupiter relative to the Andromeda Galaxy says you will build a dreadnought and battle me...

  • Thats just pure epic :D Ive got a model battleship, but the cannons dont work. It'd be awesome if it did though, and then i could blow other people up :D

  • what is the USS Iowa superstructure made out of and were did he get his blueprints

  • @mom352 I do not know the answer to either of these questions.

  • on his USS Iowa how did he make his superstructure looks so good did he put all details or did he just use a basic outline

  • @mom352 That's just a basic outline. When viewed up-close, you can see where most of the details were before they got blown away.

  • wat do u use 4 amo?

  • @bradleyaarondepew The warships are shooting pneumatic (CO2-powered) cannons, and fire steel bbs from .177" diameter up to 1/4" diameter. There are a number of clubs around the world that do this. If you're interested, you should join up.

  • @kotori87 Where do u get the kits from then cause i cant find any???

  • @bradleyaarondepew I would suggest you google-search for Strike Models. They make hulls, cannons, and much of the other stuff you need to build a ship.

  • @kotori87 now i wish i could do something like this but i cant for 2 reasons they dont have anything like this in arizona and i dont have the money

  • @Mrblaze0505 Did you know that you can build an inexpensive armored cruiser for approximately $40 per month over the course of a year? I also believe there is a combat club or two in Arizona. Alas I don't have their contact information, so you'll have to search the RC Naval Combat forums for them.

  • @kotori87 really where do i go for tht what website and thnx for the tips

  • @kotori87 480 dollars thts not tht bad like does it come wit everything bilge pump cannons hardware etc etc ......

  • @Mrblaze0505 Do a google search for "RC Naval Combat". The RCNC website has a forum, and one of the more recent topics there is the "Cheapest point of entry" discussion. It is basically a tutorial on how to build your own entry-level ship for the smallest cost. It even factors in the cost of tools and components, like a saw, a bilge pump, cannons, etc. Unfortunately YouTube does not let me post links, or I'd post the address right here.

  • do you know any big gun clubs in raliegh

  • @mom352 I would suggest you visit the RC naval Combat website. They've got a club finder there, that will help you contact other battlers near you.

  • i was just wondering and am having an extremely difficult time finding out how to make or buy the bb guns for the boats. would you be able to point me in the right direction?

  • @Dragoby I would suggest you search for Strike Models. They provide a range of cannons, and are currently gearing up to provide the heavier cannons used by battleships. Those should be ready in a few months, if all goes well. Other than that, you can either build your own or buy used cannons.

  • @kotori87 ok thanks ill look into that thanks again

  • thanks kotori FYI my rcnavalcombat site name is navalbuddy98

  • how much do they cost

  • i do know that on the US battle games they have a feared ship that all the players do not like - hes in a Nazi ship of course but it can take so much damage, its unbelievable.

  • hahah "seig heil!, joe" :D

  • u say to repair a ship u cut rectangles of balsa wood but what abuot the fiberglass hulls do the wholes u get u keep forever

  • @sasukefan1515 both wooden and fiberglass ships are required to have soft, penetrable balsa sides, so the basic repair technique applies to both types of ship.

  • Im 12 and have always been intrested in this stuff i want to do this so badly i know u cant buy these ships out of a box but i cant build one of these from scratch what should i do?

  • @sasukefan1515 If you cannot build a ship from scratch by yourself, I would suggest that you buy a used ship. Refitting a used ship to combat-ready condition is much easier than building a ship from scratch, and should be more within your skill level.

  • how can i get started?? im 15

  • @fty170 The first step to getting started is to visit the RC Naval Combat website. You can find a link in this video's description, or you can google it. Introduce yourself on the forum, and people will help you find your local club and get in contact with them. From there, your local club will teach you how to build, battle, and repair a warship.

  • @Metelmulisha250 The first step is to visit the RC Naval Combat website. You can find a link in this video's description, or you can google it. Introduce yourself on the forum, and people will help you find your local club and get in contact with them. From there, your local club will teach you how to build, battle, and repair a warship.

  • how can you put guns on a RC ship?

  • @spencss1 Very carefully, that's how :)

Actually, could you please be more specific with your question? I can't tell if you're asking for technical details, safety concerns, or what on earth inspired me to do this. And, of course, this comment box is too small to answer all three questions.

  • what an expensive hobby. looks fun as hell though!

  • @AENIMA42069 You'd be surprised. Compare the cost of building and maintaining one battleship to fatally crashing four RC airplanes per year, or maintaining one or two RC cars or speedboats for competitive racing. Other RC sports have lower entry costs, but their annual upkeep is much higher. And, of course, no other RC sport is anywhere near as fun as this! :D

  • @kotori87

so i see people patching holes with tape and what not on the spot so they can continue to participate.... but can you repair the hull at home with apoxy or something? or are the ship hulls a 1shot deal, once they are toast thats it?

  • @AENIMA42069 Painter's masking tape is for temporary, pond-side patches. The balsa sides are considered a consumable resource just like ammunition and CO2, so are easily replaced. Cut a rectangle around the damaged section, make a new rectangle to fit, then glue it in place with wood glue. One day every year, each ship is stripped bare of balsa and replaced with fresh, in a process called re-sheeting. In this fashion, old ships are made new, and can last for decades.

  • @kotori87

ahh ok. then it isnt as expensive as i thought =). i was thinking that the hulls had to be constantly replaced for a couple hundred bucks a pop lol. cool when i get some extra money ill look into this, thank you for the information.

  • whats the cheapest possible total price for building a ship that can fight?

im mainly looking to just do this with my little brother, and i need to buy the cheapest possible ship.

  • すごい楽しそうだ!!

  • That website helped alot now i have to decide what ship model to start with

  • Ive always wanted to get in to this hobby and build a North Carolina class battleship but i don't know how to start into this or how to build one of these

  • @EricCharlesLomax1 The first step is to introduce yourself on the RC Naval Combat forums. You'll find plenty of people there willing to advise you and help you build a ship and join (or start) a club. After that, the next step is to explore the Strike Models website. They sell most of the stuff you'll need for a ship, and they're friendly and helpful. You can find links to both websites in the description text of this video, or via google.

  • where can I buy such a boat?

  • @Garadosfull You have to build the ship yourself, but you can get most of the components (hull, cannons, etc) from Strike Models. Google search or follow the link in the video description.

  • A7

    battleship

  • Kinda just for the sake of curiousity do you ever think about trying like...mini depth charges cuz Ive seen that done b4. Im not talking in a RC battle like this with all the saftey issues and damaging the ships beyond repair. I was more talking about in a controlled enviornment kinda just for fun. Just to see wat would happen?

  • @bassmachine666 The closest I've done to that is bursting balloons underwater. It was a weapons experiment, the idea being enough bubbles beneath a ship would cause it to lose buoyancy and sink. Initial bathtub tests were successful (and spectacular), but pollution concerns nixed the idea. Alas, while steel bbs rust away quickly, balloon debris does not.

  • We used to dream about doing this kind of thing when I was a kid. This is great!

  • what are they shooting with? this is awesome. i was in a scale model shipbuilding club back in day, i alwasy wondered how can u make them fire on each other.

  • @tbilisicentral (uploader) They are shooting pneumatic (CO2-powered) cannons, and fire steel bbs from .177" diameter up to 1/4" diameter. There are a number of clubs around the world that do this. If you're interested, you should join up.

  • sieg hail joe

  • I think id rarther shake a stick at a granny for an hour or two

  • I saw it too late..sorry

  • name for this song?

  • @TheXartos read the description. The song is clearly identified.

  • @kidle102 What you saw in the upper left corner of the screen at 1:46 is a shore battery. It's basically a floating turret, with battleship armor and one big pump.

  • Just wondering - only one man per ship control is permitted? How about adding web camera to the turret for precise targeting at longer distances (along with gyrostabilizers, lol) and additional player to control fire. Probably that would add audience appeal as well as safety for players and spectators.

  • @TrueGODrake There are no rules against what you've suggested, but there are practical limitations. The biggest one is that, while almost everyone wants a gunner or two to help operate their ships, nobody wants to be a gunner for somebody else. So while we *can* have extra crew, there aren't any crew available to help, because they've all got their own ships. The second obstacle is budget. Webcams and other electronics can double or triple the cost of an already-expensive warship.

  • @kotori87 I would totally be a gunner for one of these!

  • some body should probobly run into the pond and pretend to be godzilla and smash the boats with their fists

    GRAAAAAAAAAAAAARG

  • @al3xt3hl0nly I tried that once. Worked great, until someone got smart and rammed me with 70lbs of cargo ship moving at 30 knots. I took a photo a few seconds before impact, which can be found on the club website.

  • couldnt u just put steel bbs in an airsoft gun? plz reply.

  • @nolifewithoutrc10 I actually don't know. Airsoft is designed around lighter projectiles, and as such has been optimized for them. They use tight-tolerance barrels for 6mm projectiles, so you'd at least need a different barrel. Other than that, I don't know if airsoft pistols move enough air to push a heavy steel ball bearing up to speed.

Why don't you try it, and find out?

  • can an airsoft pistol pierce the armor on thos boats? plz reply. im also building one of those boats from scratch.

  • At point-blank range, probably. Underwater, or at longer range? ha! airsoft bbs are very lightweight, and lose their energy quickly to friction. Steel bbs and 1/4" ball bearings are much more massive. They travel much slower for the same penetrating energy, but carry that armor-piercing energy for a much longer distance.

  • "sieg heil joe"

    hahah

  • wow, automatic self destruction with the hit of a small spot

  • love these things! i also might join your guys club

  • Cool, REmek! I'd love to battle with you.

  • Hey, i live in vancouver canada, and im wondering where i might be able to by one of these ships localy, or do i have tobuy online or start from scratch? plz reply

  • @Jordancopps there are a number of clubs in Canada. Check out the links in my video, one of them contains a club finder. Once you contact your nearest club, you may be able to buy a used ship from someone. If not, you can at least get help building your first ship.

  • thanks alot realy I apreciate it! =D

  • are they shoting bb's or little .22's at each other?

  • They are shooting pneumatic (CO2-powered) cannons, and fire steel bbs from .177" diameter up to 1/4" diameter. .22s and other gunpowder-propelled projectiles are absolutely forbidden, for violating both pyrotechnic and safety regulations.

  • @kotori87 i might join your club!

  • They shoot BBs using regulated CO2, like used in paintball. That way, the power of the guns can be carefully controlled and kept at a safe level. I've been hit accidentally many times by these cannons, and I've never had more than a small welt. .22s are not safe to use in this game.

  • how much would it cost to make the box thing would you be able to tell me how much every hting is for th box things would you be able to send me a list of what i would need for it and if you have plans on how to build it could you send me them to

  • that looks so much fun

  • hey how strong are those gun on the ships

  • 1) strong enough to punch through 1/8" balsa

    2) strong enough to require safety glasses

    3) NOT strong enough to pierce skin

Please note #3, as that is the most important part in any sport with projectiles. Airsoft, paintball, etc. all have their own safety rules to meet #3, and we do too.

  • im also woundering how much would it cost to buy and make these battle ships

  • It costs about as much as any other serious RC hobby to get started. Maintenance costs are lower, however. As a rough guess, I'd say about $1000 to build a ship, then about $25-50 per year on balsa, glue, paint, ammo, and CO2. Compared to $500 every six months for crashing airplanes, or $1000 plus maintenance for high-end RC cars, and it's actually a pretty good deal.

  • Anyone noticed the Chrono Trigger music in there?

  • I should hope so. it's supposed to be there, so I'd be worried if nobody noticed.

  • EPIC!!!!! i wish i could be there with mine. but i have no idea where u normally go to and mine is having some turning problems

  • ma ke figata!

  • wow, great... flying dutchman chasing black Perl with 3ple cannons...

  • the best modelwar xDD

  • Cool !!!!!!!

    Morgan&Ohtello
