when bob dylan sang songs that were written in the voice of a woman he didn't change the gender designations. "...it's been a ruin for many a poor girl and me, oh god i'm one." Rather than changing the nature of the song, a better work would be done by maintaining the original words.
Beautifull song, well sung. Put my wife and older daughter on plane for Grad dress buying trip to Vancouver. Left looking after three kids. Dinner, Swimming, cup cakes for school tomorrow. End of day, kids in Bed, got comfortable, Deep breath, exhaled. I then listened to your rendition of Tomorrow is a long day. Now all is perfect. You have an amazing voice. I can only imagine the number of people you are putting smiles on. You put one on me.
you have a beautiful voice and you sing like an angel . I think your video is wonderful and I thank you for singing it . tomorrow is a long time is a beautiful song and your beautiful voice and your wonderful music complement the song .
Philosophy 101: The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I first learned this song in the early Sixties from Ian and Sylvia's "Four Strong Winds" album. They got it from Bob Dylan around that time. Nickel Creek, and YOU, Prosperia, do a fine job with the song. But if you can give Ian and Sylvia's version a listen. It's the foundation for everyong who has sung it in the years since, including Nickel Creek.
Proseperia, you've go a great voice, and you most certainly have the feel for the sorrow about lost love that the lyrics portray. The song is in a very simple 3 Chord progession. As you sing it, is in standard tuning, capoed up to the third fret, played in G, C, D, with a walk down to Em from G changing to C if you like. It's a simple folky alternating thumb base (T from 6th 4th string), leaving you room to embellish with your fingers to pick out the melody and rythym. You can do it!!
:) Yea, I've worked out a fairly simple way of playing it since I uploaded this video. I was a bit intimidated at first simply because nickel creek always such complicated stuff, I didnt even bother trying to figure out what the chords were.
Very, very sweet. This is one my favorite old Dylan songs, and most covers of it are simply awful, in my humble opinion. Your sweet, unpretentious rendering of this unbelievably bittersweet, poignant love song left me with tears in my eyes. Thank you.
Wow thats really sad. I am, what I am and I wont appologise for it. And its not an act. If you think thats childish then oh well.. At least im not some synic who hates life and is mad at the world... ahem... sound familiar?
I didn't mean to upset you, I was merely commenting on something in your performance that struck me as odd and I don't think I'm the only one too (note somebody else asked your age). Now, as to being cynical: When you decide to publish a performance for the whole world to see, don't you think the world has a right to respond? Do you really think that comment to be so rude as to think I hate life? If so can't stand the heat... hm?
you have a very angelic voice and looks that mirror it. I am a huge Bob Dylan fan, I lie your cover of "You ain't goin nowhere" also. Take a look at a few of my Dylan covers, my voice is't as good as yours but they sound ok.
Stop bashing yourself! You started playing instruments what... less than five years ago... you doing great with them. Look forward to seeing you play on a stage!
For the love of god just let Bobby sing the song

Yes I absolutely thought it was rude. You took the time to specifically attack my personality saying that my "childish act" gave you the "shivers".

The risk of putting things up on Youtube is that people don't like it. Sorry, but that's how it works.

I too love the Nickel Creek version of the song.
I wish you'd practice doing it with a guitar and repost it. You could do a simple version using easy chords (G, C, D).
