People are hating quite a bit on the Chris part of the trailer because it shows more action-y stuff than the Leon side of things. I personally love that, Leon and Chris are two different characters and they will play and approach situations differently, better than have two characters that feel identical. Also, playing as both will give fans a chance to experience both the more survival horror side of things (with Leon) and the action stuff (with Chris). Best of both worlds... stop whining

RE4 was a exception because the game was still scary and hard. Forcing you to pick what you need with the attache case, strong enemies with few weaknesses and being attacked in groups, a haunting music score. RE5 had nothing like that.

I love the way this is going btw. Think about it, the first ones, there were (story based) less zombies, and they were probably superior, so it was slower, and more scary. As the story progresses, there are more and more and more zombies, RE5 having the most yet (again STORY based) so it had to get more actiony to survive. Now there are so goddamn many, that it NEEDS to be action based for the story to continue. Except a similar thing with the new assassins creed, out of the Animus.

Look at the expansion pack for Resident Evil 5, the "Lost in Nightmares" one was pretty close to the older ones in my opinion. You had very little ammo, hard to kill monsters, every door you open was creepy as fuck, and it was dark and ominous.

I absolutely love what they are showing with the Leon sid eof the game, which is what I wanted the gameplay and atmosphere to be like after RE4, but then you get over to the Chris side of things and those other 2 new characters and I don't understand why the action and enemies need to be so ridiculously over the top. There are ways to up the scale without resorting that kind of enemy design and overly action oriented gameplay.
