As regards Enochian, I've never really studied it, so I cannot comment on it.
I read that the sub-conscience mind understands things in symbols, its why the systems of magic in the Occult gives us the ability to "control" or "create" things in our reality (as we know it).
The Enochian tablets, just like the Pentagram, are symbols that we use to harness the untapped power that we have in our minds.

Enochian isn't even that sophisticated of a language. The grammar is infantile, and the current selection of words severely limits its magical/practical use (I mean, a concise Enochian dictionary would be wafer-thin. Try writing a book in Enochian. Not gonna happen.)
It sounds nothing like any known language (except for Toki Pona; a language made up by a gay canadian transvestite... listen to it and you'll know what I mean...)
