  • Goodness, I was running 5 days a week for 12 months and I still wasn't ready for something like that. I was training for speed at a short distance though and did that race on a whim. I did it though! I'm a terrible runner and better runners than me quit. It felt soo soo great. Good Luck!

  • oh goodness, don't tell me that! I so think I have enough time and now i'm not so sure!

  • lol...don't worry, I am a poor example. I'm a really poor runner and at the time I was going to a trainer and a nutrisionist and still had high blood pressure, plus I reinjured my knee a few times in there too (I broke it a few years ago). Now that I'm on meds it's much easier to run :) You'll do great. You are fit and enjoy working out. It will be such an awesome feeling when you cross that finish line and it's so worth it just to say you did it.

  • I'd drive alongside you and give you encouragement lol! Good luck :)

  • sweet! play the music loud please!

  • A half marathon?? OMG! Running is like torture for me...what a great goal to set for yourself though. You will do great, I can feel it!

  • I hope so, it is a little bit like torture for me now too.

  • Well done! Just over 3 miles is approx 5km!? in 35 mins i say thats really good! I gotta start training for my race i guess. :(

  • Good Luck! I'm exhausted just thinking about (you) running.

  • WOW!!! 35 minutes!! That's impressive! Good luck! I think you may turn out to be an inspiration. I've been meaning to start working out again...

  • THanks! I love to get other people working out!

  • when i think of running a marathon, i gag incessantly and feel like pooping my pants. is that normal??

good luck! i know you'll do it!

  • That is TOTALLY normal girl, I've had to change my pants many times!

  • I really feel like there is more you can do with your "spare time". Slacker...

  • You know what???? Say that to my face at the end of June funny man! Hey, do you like bears? I like bears.

  • Hahahahaha...=)

  • I went running today too. Ran 3.2...feet. I was very proud to have beaten Joe. I am VERY competitive.

    Good Luck!

    hehe

  • Dale, pace yourself!!! :)

  • If only we had some time when we could run together! I would LOVE to run with you. I run that pace. Um...maybe slower. I like to take in the scenery.....

  • I love the scenery around my house....the crack houses, the punk kids, etc. ahhhhh, nature.

  • Oh, that sounds WONDERFUL! Encourages you to run faster I suppose.

  • yup!

  • I went running today too. Ran 3.1... feet. I was very proud.

    Good luck.

  • Sweet, we can run to the middle of the driveway when you get here!

  • I know you'll be able to do it. There isn't a goal you've set for yourself that you haven't achieved... outside of that whole happy marriage thing. : )..

... wait... seems like I've heard that before. :)

  • yeah but I'm trying to take care of that, I have a boyfriend.

  • I was paying attention to you talking the whole time so I didn't notice you driving down Fremont st. :) Good luck on your marathon and training. I really think you can do this. I'm jealous.

  • :) Next time maybe I'll run down Fremont! :) THanks Chad! I'll run by your house and scream loud, how bout that!

  • I lived on Fremont about 13 years ago but I live in Lakeview now. I'll bet you can hit my house in under those 3 miles...Go for it! :)

  • you never heard of a shoe camera? put the little sucker under the laces and give us blow-by-blow (or, rather, step-by-step) coverage of your running experience. That wouldn't be hard to watch at all....

  • No, wouldn't make people sick at all!

  • You should seriously do one -- just for kicks. :-)

  • Good luck :)

  • Thank you!

  • I know you'll be able to do it. There isn't a goal you've set for yourself that you haven't achieved... outside of that whole happy marriage thing. : )

  • Yes, it's part of the generation, what can I do?

  • yes but my boyfriend keeps me going.

  • andrea i am a runner fill up with fluid ... isotonic and work on flights of steps up and down as much as possible .... this will help you control breathing during the runs and save energy in therms of draining
