@MrConassassin For one thing, they use breakdowns in almost every one of their songs. Death metal bands do not do this. For another thing, they have barely any solos. Also, their low growls are "core"-sounding. Whitechapel is OK, but they're definitely deathcore. Ask anyone, even fans, and they'll tell you the same thing. And "modern death metal" isn't even a genre. I would consider any death metal band that has come out fairly recently to be "modern", I suppose.
