I did this last night to solve 18 advanced, and I felt so guilty I felt I was cheating, the I saw all the ugly glitches people exploit, this one is just a clever use of the rules, more than an exploit.

For those of you wondering this isn't an actual glitch it is a problem with the modeler. You see the portal gun is actually through the blue portal so you aren't shooting the wall. Meanwhile Chel's body is intact on the other side of the blue portal. Since the gun is attached to Chel it automatically re snaps to Chel's body. If I get at least 10 thumbs up on this I will make a video explaining what I just said.

You can actully "wall teleport" meaning that you can stand in one portal, while shooting the other one, so you stands in the middle of the portals :D

@edfreak9001 Yes, they did patch it in Portal 2 as far as I saw in the gameplay trailer. So if they did change the portal mechanics in the second game, they considered it to be a major flaw.

@Paaradox It now has increased force when the portal closes, but now you can shoot a new portal just as you enter it and use it for infinite propulsion using portals allowing you to fly higher without a high starting spot

@Paaradox thats one of the only problems with portal 2 that i have... the doors, walls, cubes, button sounds and portal gun, and emancipation grills all changed even though GLaDOS wasn't around to make the new stuff! I'm especially annoyed by the grids and the portal gun, because basically to change those 2 you would have to change the laws of physics.

@edfreak9001 Another way to do the same trick would be to stand on one side of a portal funnel, and if it was blue, you'd shoot the orange one somewhere else whilst standing on the blue side of the funnel. They also patched this in Portal 2: if you are standing in a portal funnel and you shoot another portal at a portal-able surface, you will be shot out of the funnel. :(

yea, i did find a BUG after the chambers where i could use a portal to skip the map loading trigger and wander around at the end of the map, in a blank room where you cant do anything else until you go bak into the loading trigger.

Valve just got owned. BTW, here's a neat little glitch/trick/cheat:

Type into the console:

sv_portal_placement_never_fail (hit Enter)

sv_portal_placement_never_bump (hit Enter)

Click Resume Game.

Place two portals on the glass, (you can do this anywhere but I'm using a window) one on top of the other (left-click then right-click without moving) and you have a weird mirror-thing. Don't try taking anything through. It'll come back out as you push it in, the object stopping itself halfway through.
