My immediate answer is fire ants & AIDS.
As for things like greed & poverty, I don't really see how a weapon can solve those problems, even one that made you invincible (especially if you wanted to get rid of things like fear & pain, too). In the case of emotions, even the "7 deadly sins" are good--even needed--in moderation, just as things like love & charity can be bad if too much (obsessive, self-destructive, etc). Messing with social conditions is more tricky than most realize, too.
