Until I watched this video this morning, I hadn't even heard that Tony Curtis passed away. The world will miss this wonderfully talented man. I'm a little late it seems, but this day is plagued with sadness for me, the day I learned Mr. Curtis has left us.
Great video about what seems to be a great movie made by two great actors. But now let's make a deal. Until the end of the year you are forbidden to send another R.I.P. video simply because nobody more will die. This year we have not even time to breathe. Enough with deaths. But, R.I.P, Tony Curtis
Very good video and song choice, too! R.I.P. Tony Curtis. What a great, handsome, talented, charming star he always was --- and in an era when it really TOOK SOMETHING to be a big star, too!!!! He will be missed.
Excellent choice of song, with it's symbolism parallel to the images seen on the screen.
Very good upload.
I wonder if you might be able to post what happens directly after the last part shown here. I thought I recalled Poitier losing it and singing a 'negro standard,' or maybe one of the cops descending upon them was singing, I forget. I thought it ended something like that, though. I keep searching YouTube, but to no avail so far. Cheers.
Great tribute to such a TRULY classic and Iconic movie! The Defiant Ones was about 6 years ahead of it's times. It has themes in it that have never been touched upon in films prior. What makes this film so great, is that it shows blacks and whites on the run from the law with only eachother to fully trust and depend on. In the beginning they are against eachother due to their skin color, and by the end they are dragging eachother to freedom. Stanley Kramer was a revolutionary director. ILUVIT!
Great Movie! I can remember watching it on TV when I was a kid (b.1963). It's a wonder that it's not banned on TV because of the use of the "N" word! My Dad was a Huge Sidney Poitier fan! Anytime he came out with a new movie, Dad would take us to the theater.
I saw it now at a friend of my wife that had it taped. Unluckily she did it spoken in portuguese and so something of the performances was missing. Even so, it is a great movie.
Such a great film and two great leads, of course, but Cara Williams (Oscar nominated) is a real revelation as the woman in the invaded cottage. You've done a real nice with the cutting. 5 stars!
Sweet! This movie had powerful performances by Poitier and Curtis. Great choice of music and tight editing make this one another classic. Bravo, buddy!
Where is the Full Movie?

Hey - interesting how you deemed a modern song would 'improve' the opening titles... Wrong.

I uploaded the entire film.

Is it real? Did I really see what I saw? Sidney Poitier as a criminal and on a run? Tony Curtis acting well? Thousands of stars.
