i didn't know that dnb step was competitive. it's a free spirited dance i've always felt. i mean what exactly are you trying to rate?? how free someone can be?? it's not like break dancing where you can judge it move to move... do you know how boring it would be to judge a dnb step?? you've had to stick with one pattern of juggling just to go into your moves for the competition to be equal all around. which means you could not improvise as freely as you would want. it would kill the spirit of it

@isaikid Ive always felt every DnB stepper has their own unique step. I guess its just the best stepper who can combine their combos well and who has the most smooth stepping. Most dances are pretty competitive, like, Jumpstyle. Shuffling. Ive even see a few TekTonic battles. But i guess your right, But im sure there are only a few major competitions. Most competitiveness in stepping is just for fun i suppose.

More moves, better technique, better move-on-beat feeling, following musical picture in your dance - that's how dnd step is judged in Russian festivals. And I can say this video is full of not so good dancers who don't think too much about the criterias I've just mentioned.

How hard would you say this is to do? Are the basics easy to pick up? How hard is this to do in comparison to similar dances such as the shuffle?

@IElrekkaI These guys all have been doing this dance for probably 6 months at least. At noob level this dance is easier then shuffle. But once you start getting really good/smooth, it takes more time. But Shuffle takes a lot more energy to do than this. I can practice dnb step for hours and not get tired, but a solid hour and 15 min or so of shuffle and my legs are dead. 2k8 style = easier than 2k7 shuffle. 2k11 step = more time than new-aged shuffling, if you know what that is.
