My hair is currently about 41" inches. I'm 5'7.

Lately I've been thinking about cutting off a couple inches. I haven't had a trim in a long time and my hair is starting to get caught in things, people are sitting on it, I'm sitting on it.. Everybody I know loves my hair and I really do love it too. I'm so attached I don't think I could ever cut it all off. 2 inches isn't that bad. Women like you inspire me to keep my long hair.

I agree, don't cut! Locks of love is a fake, and it takes more than hair to help people of ill health...maybe the people that make those comments could figure out other ways to help...instead of bothering longhaired women.

To those of you who are telling Marianne to cut her hair, cut yours first.

She is doing a lot of great work to publicise a classic piece of beauty. Hair as long as hers, and other women, such as JJJlonghair4u2c, is an inspiration to women of all ages, and especially children.

There are pleanty of organizations which are known for donating only to cancer victims. To have the ability to grow excessive amounts of hair is great, but there are many who are unable to grow any. Donating some would be a selfless and generous act. Just something to think about.

Donate your own hair first. As someone who actually does work with people who have experienced cancer, children feel inspired when they see a woman like Marianne. She is the fairytale Rapunzel they only read about. Of course some people with cancer want to wear a wig, but there are plenty of high-quality synthetic wigs available.

Donate some time to those people who must stay in hospital while they have treatment. That is more valuable to them than wearing a wig.

Often they find them hot and uncomfortable. Donate money for cancer research instead.
