  • The Big L!!!!!! Happy days!

  • Wonderful Big L, definitely the most professional and popular of all the Pirates,it was the Soudtrack of most teenagers lives at the time, and especially ' Sonowaltz ' a most evocative sound of the 60's that fills me with utter warmth & nostalgia !.I was on a training course at Bletchley Park on Aug.14th 1967, and can so easily remember the forboding of feeling at 3.00p.m , thinking that Big L was gone for good - but never forgotten ,- such happy memories !.

  • good times when music was music now well ahem what can one say craaaap

  • " the time is 3 o clock and radiolondon is now closing down" last words from big L aug 14 1967. why do governments spoil peoples fun, they put my road tax up to £25 when i was only earning £13. per week. but i always remember at the ballot box.

  • sorry brain dead right now....the music to this vid is called "sonowaltz" also known as the Big Lil theme. I found a lot of the voice overs for Radio london AND Caroline Continues were somehow speeded up..if you could slow Caroline Continues down you would find its Johnny Walker narrating!!

  • just a quicky...its called something like sonovox summat...it was the Radio London Theme used to close the station down on Aug 14th 1967

  • what song is this?

  • Great to see this, only know this station from the jingles. Must have been a WONDERFUL station!

  • i am glad you like it

  • Nice to see some footage of Big L. It was the first station I picked up on my new transistor radio on my 9th birthday and easily the loudest signal on the dial. Unfotunately a few months later the government closed it down. A child traumatised for life! Thanks

  • Why is the commentary speeded up?
